Virtually all housewives grow at home various indoor plants. Most often it is, of course, flowers. Flowers are always able to brighten up a bad mood and bring harmony and tranquility into our lives. But, quite often the growers face various diseases of houseplants. In this article, we will discuss the diseases of violets of house, begonia and hydrangea. Consider the most common diseases of these flowers and methods of dealing with them.

Diseases of violets of the room

Violets most often suffer in the winter from hypothermia. Therefore, with the onset of cold weather, it is best to remove the violets from the window sill and put it in a warmer place. And if in addition to the window for flowers there is no more space, then at least lay warm underpants under the flower pots. As litter, thin foam can be used. It can easily be purchased in a construction shop in the form of ceiling tiles.

Growing violets on the windowsills, of course, is convenient, they do not interfere with anyone and are constantly available for review. But if the window on the windowsill of which is a pot of violet with direct sunlight, it is very bad for flowers. Light, of course, is good, but in moderation.

Watering violets should be very careful. If a drop of water falls on a plant leaf when watering, a white spot will inevitably appear on it, which will spoil the whole appearance of the violet. And also do not abuse frequent watering. Constantly moist soil in the pot causes rotting of the roots of the violet and, as a consequence, a slowdown in growth.

If there is a fluffy gray coating on the leaves of your violets, this is most likely gray rot. It appears, usually on weak plants. To combat this disease, it is necessary to put a pot of plant in a bright and ventilated place and shorten irrigation. Damaged parts of the plant of course need to be removed.

Try not to violate the mode of airing the room, as the violets are very sensitive to fresh air in the apartment. When ventilating, make sure that pots with plants are not in the way of a draft. If you comply with these simple requirements, the diseases of the violets of the room will never be felt, and your flowers will always please you.

Illnesses of begonia

Begonia attracts flower growers with simple care. But while she, like all flowers is not immune from various diseases. Like the violet, begonia loves a lot of light, but is afraid of direct sunlight. Sprinkling begonia should be moderate, as the earth dries in the pot. Since the birthplace of begonia is in the tropics, she loves the moisture. Leaves of this flower should be regularly sprayed with water.

If the leaves of the begonia begin to turn yellow and fall off, it is likely that too frequent watering takes place. In this case, it is necessary to transplant the flower into a small pot and water the flower only when the soil dries.

Dry air in the room and too bright light can lead to the fact that the leaves of the plant will become pale and brittle. To restore the plant, you must increase the humidity in the room and take care that the sun's rays do not fall on the flower. After the leaves are restored and new ones grow, the plant must be transplanted with a leaf cut.

If you notice small white insects on the plant with a powder coating on the whole plant, then you know - you are dealing with a mealybug. Such a plant must be immediately isolated from others. To fight insects, wipe stems and leaves with alcohol solution for five to seven days.

Diseases of hydrangea

Hortense requires the same care as begonia. Scattered sunlight, moderate watering and sprinkling of leaves with water. In the summer, pots with hydrangeas should be taken to fresh air, for example, on the balcony.

The most dangerous disease for hydrangea is the so-called downy mildew. In this disease, both the leaves and the stem of the plant suffer. On the leaves appear spots, oily in appearance. There is this ailment because of the excessively high humidity of the air. For treatment it is necessary to wipe the affected areas with a solution of copper sulfate.

Chlorosis - leaves become light, and veins on the contrary darken. For treatment, the flower should be watered with a solution of potassium nitrate for two days. After that, continue watering after three days, but already with iron sulfate solution.

As you can see, all diseases are the result of improper care of plants. So take care of the flowers and the diseases of the violets of the room, begonias and hydrangeas will never touch you.
