But everything changes when the plant blooms. According to the existing legend, acacia flowers are scattered fragments of the month. Her white fragrant flowers are gathered into drooping panicles and remotely resemble the moths fleeing from heaven. And, what is especially pleasant, white acacia not only pleases the look and creates a romantic mood, but also treats us, cares for our skin.

In Europe, the first seedlings of this "fragrant medicine" were brought back in the XVII century. The royal gardener named Robin brought them from the States, and in honor of this man, acacia is also called robinia. The life of this plant lasts no more than 50 years. More than 200 years it grew in parks, gardens, on boulevards as a southern plant, but gradually, mastering all new territories, has come to us. Blooming robinia begins in late May, and the fruit ripen only in June.

Acacia white is known in folk medicine as a medicinal plant. Curative in her are flowers, bark, leaves and fruits, although the chemical composition of the fruit is not thoroughly studied. It is established that in the cortex and flowers there is a robinin (flavonoid) - a substance that promotes the excretion of urea from the body. But it is toxic, and with the help of acacia itself, it is dangerous to treat illnesses.

Preparing medicinal raw materials from acacia is necessary, observing special rules. So, the flowers are collected in the flowering stage, half-blown, and dried at high temperature in a well-ventilated room. These fragrant flowers contain vitamins, essential oils, minerals and organic acids.

Cortex and foliage should be collected in the vegetative stage. Flavonoids and their glycosides are found in the leaves of the plant, and pectins, tannins, fatty oils in the young bark.

Preparations made on the basis of acacia raw materials are prescribed as antipyretic, expectorant, choleretic, spasmolytic, hypotensive and light laxative.

Acacia white, or rather, its flowers, is used to treat various gastrointestinal disorders, with gastritis and ulcers, with bladder disease, kidney stones and kidney stones, radiculitis, rheumatism, osteochondrosis, colds and other ailments.
