Soft books contain many details, different in texture, color and size. During the game with such textbooks the child:

  • Develops the motor skills of the hands ;
  • Gets acquainted with different forms and colors;
  • Develops visual perception, attention and thinking;
  • Develops tactile skills.

General information

An example of such a book: the page is sewn with a train with trailers, and the child must be seated in them small animals.

Much more interesting options, which combine several functions. For example, you need to open the doors of the house, which are fastened to several different fasteners. And behind the doors are the contours of the figures, inside of which the color is signed. It turns out that the child should not only open the doors, but also arrange the figures according to the contour and color.

What do you need to create a soft book?

A soft development book with its own hands is created with the help of such materials and tools:

  • Fabric for the page (felt, cotton, silk and so on);
  • Fabric for details and objects in the book (it is better to choose a felt - it is soft and pleasant to the touch);
  • Velcro, button, snake, lacing, snaps, buttons and other possible fasteners and fasteners;
  • Beads;
  • Tapes;
  • Thread;
  • Rings for connecting pages;
  • Filler for the cover and book details (for example, sintepon, holofayber and so on);
  • Chalk or special marker on the fabric (needed for creating templates and markings);
  • Needles;
  • scissors;
  • sewing machine.

We make the basis of the book

The basis of the book is its cover, to which the pages will be attached.

Master class, how to do soft books with your own hands (cover photo is attached):

  1. Decide what size you want the book.
  2. On the back of the fabric, draw a rectangle. Its length should be larger than the intended size by about five to ten centimeters. This stock is the front of the book. The wider it is, the more pages can be placed in the book.
  3. Make two such templates. You can use two different fabrics - one is needed for the outer cover, the other for the inner one.
  4. Cut out two templates with a margin of up to a centimeter from each side.
  5. Mark the ribbon whose width is equal to the width of the end of the book, and the length to its height. Add to each side from five millimeters to one centimeter. Cut it out.
  6. Put several rings on the tape to secure the pages. Better use three pieces.
  7. Decorate one of the scraps of cloth on the half of the front side - this will be the cover. You can cut figurines out of felt and sew or glue them, sew beads, fasteners, buttons, embroider words or numbers. Be creative.
  8. Sew the ribbon with the rings to the front side of the other piece of fabric vertically in the center. Do not forget to evenly place the rings.
  9. Sew the two sides of the cover together, leaving a small hole on the right side in the middle.
  10. Turn out the cover.
  11. Pull the filler evenly inside the cover. It should not be much, but it needs to be very tight.
  12. Sew the hole with a hidden seam.
  13. Sew ribbons for tying.
  14. The cover is ready!

We sew pages for the book

Pages for the book can be made in two ways:

  • The whole turn;
  • Paginally.

If you make a U-turn, the size will be the same as for the cover. If you sew each page separately, then just reduce the size twice.

All the work boils down to the following:

  • Cut two pieces of cloth of the necessary size;
  • Make the necessary details for the page (cut out the figures, sew them, and so on);
  • Sew the pages with the back side, leaving a small hole;
  • Turn out the fabric;
  • Fill it with sintepon, hollofayer or something else;
  • Sew a hole;
  • Insert special rings on one side of the page (they will be inserted rings on the tape of the cover);
  • If there are none, then you can just make small incisions and cover them so that they do not become scratched;
  • Sew all the necessary parts.

The page is ready.

Tip: In order to reduce time and simplify the process of work, the pages can be made from colored felt or other dense takna, which keeps the shape and does not crumple. Simply cut two pieces and sew them together. You do not have to stuff it.

A soft book with your own hands: ideas with figures

To introduce the child to the numbers and train the account, you can make your own books with numbers. Ideas for implementing ideas:

  1. Cut out figures and any objects from any fabric (for example, felt), for example, different. Their number must correspond specifically to the figure. You can put everything in the following way: one digit is sewn on one spread, on the other - a pocket with objects (for example, small carrots). The child must lay out as many carrots as indicated on the page.
  2. Cut out the numbers from the dark cardboard or other thick paper and staple to the pages. Make a bag for the book, in which the chalk and cloth will be stored. Let the child teach how to write numbers. It will simply be chalked by a pattern, after which it can simply be erased.
  3. Make an account on the pages of the book (see the master class below).

Page with numbers

Master-class for making a page with numbers:

  1. On the page, mark the lines for the tapes with pins.
  2. Take ribbons or thick yarn folded in half, and large beads.
  3. String on each tape beads. Their number should be from one to ten. It is less possible if the number of tapes does not fit on the page.
  4. Embroider the numbers on a page or a separate tape. Ten tapes - ten figures.
  5. Sew ribbons with beads to the page. This can be done in two ways:
  • Make small incisions in the tissue of the page and thread the ends of the tape into them, tie them from the wrong side of the nodules or sew the tips;
  • Sew ribbons directly to the page, and to hide the ends of the yarn, wash the tape.

6. Sew a ribbon with embroidered figures to one of the sides, if you did this.

The page with figures is ready!

Page with fasteners

Developing motor skills and teaching the child to use buttons, snakes, hooks and so on will help pages with fasteners on which in the game form it is suggested to unbutton the snake or tie the shoelaces.

Soft development book with their own hands (master class for making pages with clasps):

  1. Draw all the details on the felt. In this example - this jacket, mittens, skirt, trunk (you can blouse), neck.
  2. Cut the jacket in half vertically.
  3. Sew a snake in your jacket.
  4. Close the snake.
  5. Nashishte on the page all the details in the following order: neck, body (blouse), skirt and mittens.
  6. From above on all attach a jacket.
  7. Make a scarf.

One of the variants of the page with clasps is ready.

Another idea for such a page is shoes with laces. Let the child learn to lace.

Page "Dress the doll"

Dress the doll is a game that helps the child make the right decisions.

Soft book with your hands - a master class on sewing the page "Dress the doll":

  1. Cut out the necessary details from the felt: a doll, hair, clothes and shoes.
  2. Sew the Velcro onto the back of the doll and to the page.
  3. For each clothing and footwear, also sew a velcro.
  4. Cut out the felt from the felt.
  5. Sew the cabinet to the page in such a way that the pocket turns out.
  6. Sew on the doll's hair, make a face (glue the fabric, draw a marker or embroider a thread).
  7. Stick the doll to the page, and put all the clothes in the closet.

The page is ready!

Another option for such a page is "The Seasons". Sew a tree and a pocket. Make the leaves (green and yellow) and flowers. Let the child place them on the tree, depending on what time of the year you say. For example, spring - green leaves, summer - flowers, autumn - yellow leaves, and in winter the tree remains empty.

Advantages of a soft book

Soft books for kids with their own hands have a number of advantages over other developing things and simple books:

  • On the pages there is no typographic paint;
  • For its creation natural fabrics and materials are used;
  • The soft book lends itself to washing;
  • A soft toy and a developing book in one subject;
  • Bright;
  • One book can contain many developing subjects (for example, buttons, fasteners, zippers, laces, hooks and so on).

Disadvantages of a soft book

The disadvantage of developing books is only one - the pages contain many small details that a child can swallow.

So do not let the child play with the book alone and watch it closely during training.
