Denis Silantev: career and biography

He was born in Zaporozhye on October 3, 1976. Denis Silantiev, whose biography is inseparably linked with sports, began to practice swimming since 1983. He is a pupil of the Sports School "Spartak-ZIGMU".

His first coach was S. Pronyaev. Later he trained under S. Gusev. In 2007, Denis moved to the city of Kiev and there he studied with Alexander and Nina Kozhukh. Journalists nicknamed him "Mr. Butterfly", after he won the next World Cup in swimming.

He has several government awards: the Order of Merit of the second and third degree (1997, 2000), the certificate of honor of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2002).

In the same year he became a co-author of a book called "Swimming in School." It emphasized the importance of teaching children physical culture from school. He believes that the authorities want to hide the data of the level of physical education of children. According to the tax declaration submitted by the candidate for deputy Denis Silantiev, in 2011 he earned about seventeen thousand hryvnia. And his family paid about one million hryvnias to pay off the property loan. In his election program, he promised to build several swimming pools, gyms and playgrounds, which will be accessible to all segments of the population. Unfortunately, Silantiev could not pass to the Verkhovna Rada, and he took the fourth place among candidates in his constituency.
