Declination of the name Love - deviation from the rules

Most people do not know the correct declension of the name Love, or they just do not think that it has it. For example, if a woman's name is Lyubov Nikolayevna, often with the use of her name in the speech only the patronymic declines.

At school, teachers are required to speak correctly

Unfortunately, it is rare enough to hear the correct version: "Say something to Lyubov Nikolaevna". Whether it is pronounced long, whether it sounds strange to the ear, but more often they say: "You'll go to the theater with Lyubov Nikolaevna." And a point. Even in this article, the correct declension of the name Love is emphasized in red, and the wrong passes. Why did it happen? After all, perhaps, this is the only name that is referred to as the word "coat". After all, no one will say "in a coat" or "go with Tatyana Ivanovna", because such a phrase hinders hearing.

Origin of the name

And what about poor Love? Perhaps this is a continuation of the torment for which the ancient Roman Agape was doomed, or in our way Love? The unfortunate nine-year-old girl, along with her sisters, Vera and Nadezhda, was doomed by Emperor Hadrian at the beginning of the 2nd century AD to a martyr's death for believing in Christ. The name Love itself as personal was first mentioned in the IX century, it arose when translating Greek liturgical books. But it did not use popularity, they were not called anyone, it was not given at baptism either. However, in the aristocratic environment of Russia at the end of the XVIII century, under Elizaveta Petrovna, the name begins to become fashionable.

Lovely bearers of the name

And it is difficult to imagine what would have happened in the absence of such remarkable bearers of this name as Lubava from Russian fairy tales, Lubka Shevtsova, Lyubov Orlova - the legend of Soviet cinema, or Lyubov Polishchuk. Really and in times of the goddess of cinema Orlova did not know the correct declension of the name Love? The name "declined" is for sure, but did it correspond to the rules of spelling? Probably, for it all the same, an exception was made. The charm of the name itself gives harmony with the highest emotional state of a person - love. Parallels are at the subconscious level. The name causes unconditional sympathy. The saying "Lyubushka Golubushka" is proof of this.

Features of declination

But this harmony is violated by the declension of the name Love, which does not imply, unlike the word, the loss of a vowel. So, in the genitive case (questions - "who? What?") The correct spelling of the name will look like "Love", and the words "love". That is, when the word is declined, the last vowel falls out. There is no rule, this refers to the peculiarities of the Russian language, one of the most difficult in the world. Of the thousands of names, Love occupies a special niche. Firstly, such primordially Russian, who came from time immemorial, from the Old Slavonic language, in order to end in a soft sign, there is none at all. There is a similar - Ninel (in the reverse reading of Lenin), but it is much inferior in age. However, the declension of the name Love by case is absolutely identical to the declension of the name Ninel. Here you can also include a nice (thanks to Kuprin) name of Sulamith. With these examples in mind, despite the assertion that female names ending in a soft sign have a variable declination, it can be argued that, by case, they change absolutely everything (8 or 9). Confirmations were not found. Only women's names that end in a hard consonant letter - Catherine, Irene, are not inclined, but they have nothing to do with Lubov.

In Russian, when the personal name is declined, both native Russian and foreign, everything depends on the ending. Traditionally, Russian female names end in "a" and when a word changes according to a grammatical category like case, only the ending, in fact, the last letter, changes. Female names that end in a soft sign tend to be the same type of feminine nouns, such as a daughter, a trifle, a shadow, and so on. The only exception is the female name Love. The deviation of the noun "love" from him is markedly different - as noted above, the letter falls out.

A visual difference

The case in Russian is called the grammatical category, which reflects the syntactic role of the word in the sentence and links the individual words of the sentence. There are only six cases, each of them has its basic, and some auxiliary questions, according to which both the noun and the name Love change.

Declination of them is as follows:

Nominative case: Love / love.

Genitive: Love / love

Dative: Love / love

Accusative: Love / love

Loving / loving

Proposal: about Love / about love

Love and knowledge can only be instilled by literate people

There are words in Russian that are mostly pronounced incorrectly. Some of them, as if even waving a hand, for example, a key chain . Very rarely, unfortunately, you can hear the correct form of the plural of this word, sounding like key rings . Trinkets, and that's it. Like Lyubov Ivanovna , or how to put on a coat - obviously, only some secret sect knows that people put on clothes and dress people. It is interesting that these blunders are constantly present on the central television. And it's not in the rules, but in the school teacher, it's up to him whether you will enjoy the beauty of the right Russian language, the richest and most expressive in the world, all your life.
