Consequences and symptoms. Poisoning mushrooms, what to do in such cases?

Collecting mushrooms, it is necessary to remember about their toxic properties and to distinguish some symptoms. Poisoning with fungi of various species is most often manifested in a short-term and sudden disorder of the stomach. But, along with such relatively easy moments, accidents are known that result in rather severe consequences, up to the cases with fatal outcome.

In order not to poison yourself and avoid such excesses, you must follow the rules of cooking and take seriously to prepare mushrooms of unknown species. Poisonous fungi, the symptoms of poisoning in which they are similar, often come across in the Russian forests, so information about how the process of intoxication is taking place will never interfere.

A good sign is the manifestation of the first symptoms soon after ingestion of this product. If poisoning with mushrooms is accompanied by an emetic process, the main dose of poison unwittingly taken by a person exits the body, contributing to an early recovery. If, on the contrary, the action of the poison is manifested after a while, then it has penetrated deeply enough into the blood. In the absence of timely and qualified medical care is very likely the onset of deplorable consequences.

Different symptoms. Poisoning with fungi with severe consequences.

The most dangerous among the fungi are the pale toadstool, the fly agaric white, and also the white fly agaric. Pale toadstool is often confused with edible mushrooms, such as champignon, russula, green. After eating such a mushroom to save a person is very difficult. Even using the most modern medical means, doctors do not give a guarantee that they will help. The danger of these fungi lies in the fact that the manifestation of the first signs of poisoning does not occur immediately. The latent period ranges from six to 20 hours after ingestion.

These three types of fungi contain not one type of poisonous substance, but ten different at once. Vomiting, cramps, watery diarrhea are the first symptoms. Poisoning with mushrooms of this kind provokes a violation of blood circulation. But the most dangerous is the alleged improvement and normalization of a person's condition. Next is the second stage, during which the most powerful and dangerous poisons begin to act, which is the cause of destruction of the heart muscle, liver, and kidney failure. Such poisonings often result in death.

Also there are fungi that act in a different way, so the symptoms also differ. This kind of poisoning by mushrooms has long been considered impossible. The piglet is thin, its taste is an order of magnitude superior to the white fungus, for a long time it was used for food, but the only condition for cooking was a prolonged heat treatment. To date, it has been proven that this species is toxic, and even after correct and long-term heat treatment, the likelihood of poisoning is high. This fungus does not contain poison in the usual sense, but there are still insufficiently studied substances that contribute to the formation of antibodies in the human body. These antibodies accumulate as new portions of the swine become available. They act on the red blood cells, decomposing them and removing hemoglobin from them. As a consequence, jaundice or anemia develops.

What to do when poisoning with mushrooms? It is necessary to rinse the stomach and deliver the victim as soon as possible to the doctor. It is advisable to have a sample of the fungus to which the victim was poisoned. This is necessary for the doctor to correctly determine the method of treatment. In no case should you let things go by themselves and wait for it to go away by itself.
