Concrete mixer, made by hand, - an indispensable assistant in the household

When building a house, it is necessary to mix the mixture of sand, cement and water. Traditionally, at home, this process was carried out in a trough with the help of a shovel, which took a lot of time and effort. Moreover, it was impossible to keep clean at the construction site. In such cases, a concrete mixer, in its own hands, will be produced.

Of course, the industry produces large quantities of such devices, but their cost does not always suit the site builder, or the volume of the container for mixing the solution does not fit in size. A concrete mixer, constructed and manufactured by its own hands, will be much cheaper.

Main components of the structure

To assemble the concrete mixer-self-made, you will need the following parts:

• frame;
• Rotary mechanism;
• engine;
• Reducer;
• A tub for a solution;
• Rotary axis and ground.

The concrete mixer, assembled with its own hands, is installed on a frame made of corners and inch pipes. At the bottom of the frame is an axle with attached wheels for moving the device. The front part of the base ends with a fifth - this is the third reference point of the installation. At the top of the frame is an M-shaped structure, a device for turning. On the edges in the housings are installed bearings. Everything is rigidly attached to the frame. The device for turning serves to overturn the tub with the solution and drain it.

Concrete mixer from barrel

With your hands you can make a convenient device for making a solution from a metal barrel with a capacity of about 100 to 200 liters. The bottom of the barrel is removed from one side. A pipe is cut through it at an angle, welded from two sides. The concrete mixer is closed with a latch with latches during operation. As a cover, you can use two circles of ten-millimeter plywood and a gasket or a bottom cut from another barrel. The cover is fitted with a handle for easy operation, it is also a guide when installing the cover in one position. To fix the barrel on the axis, two clips are welded to the pipe (rings 4 mm thick). At the end, a handle is attached to rotate the barrel. The design is mounted on racks with grooves for the axis. It is better to use bearings to facilitate rotation. So from a barrel the elementary concrete mixer by the hands is made. Drawings can be done by yourself or ordered in the design department.

At work, open the lid, fill the tank with the necessary components (sand, cement, crushed rock) no more than 50% of the barrel volume, stir by rotation to 20 turns of the handle. Then, adding water, make another 20 turns. Then the lid is opened, the barrel is rotated, and the ready solution is discharged into the container.

Electric concrete mixer with own hands

A more complex design is made using an electric motor. In this case, the components of the structure are:

• Tank (you can use an air cylinder installed in the braking system of the car, or an ordinary barrel);
• Frame (can be taken from a metal bed);
• Wheels (from a welding transformer;
• The driving gear for the engine (pick or manufacture);
• Reducer.

The dimensions of the device can be very different. It all depends on the needs of the manufacturer and the size of the component parts.
