Children's diseases. Adenoides of the 2nd degree

Adenoids are called enlarged tonsils located in the nasopharyngeal arch. The disease is common among children from three to ten years old and is associated with inflammatory processes of the nasal mucosa and tonsils. Separate the first, second and third degree of increase in the tonsils of the nasopharynx. With enlarged tonsils of 1 degree they cover the upper part of the opener. Adenoids of the 2nd degree close the upper part of the vomer by two thirds. At the third degree, the amygdala closes the vomer almost entirely or completely.

Adenoids of the 2nd degree are characterized by a complicated nasal breathing, as a result of which the child begins to breathe with the mouth. This, in turn, is the cause of snoring and, as a consequence, sleep disturbances. The main symptom of the disease is a constant headache. Running cases are accompanied by a constantly open mouth, a smooth nasolabial folds, a noticeable twitching of the facial muscles. Continuous breathing through the mouth provokes deformity of the chest, shortness of breath, cough and anemia.

Adenoids of the 2nd degree can be caused by any chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, untreated to the end. In this case, stagnation of blood in the nasopharyngeal region and lymph is observed. As a consequence, the function of the child's immune system decreases.

Adenoids of the 2nd degree are accompanied by breathing through the mouth, which can cause chronic tonsillitis, laryngitis, pneumonia and, in some cases, a pathology of hearing. Bad sleep with adenoids leads to memory impairment, inhibition in the mental and physical development of the child.

Children who have adenoids of grade 2, the treatment is usually, as a rule, operative. Anesthesia during surgery is used depending on the case. The removal is done with a special tool. After removal, there is a chance of recurrence, which may necessitate re-intervention.

How to treat adenoids of the 2nd degree without surgery

Therapy is prescribed by the otolaryngologist. In this case, decongestants and anti-inflammatory agents are used.

As a conservative method, rinse the nose with saline solution followed by the use of "drying" agents (oak bark, collargol, protargol). At the same time, treatment of concomitant diseases is compulsory. In some cases, laser therapy is used.

It should be noted that with caution use rinsing is necessary for sinusitis or rhinitis. This is due to the danger of infection in the middle ear and paranasal sinuses. At an early age, such a danger increases significantly due to the close arrangement of the sastia, a more horizontal arrangement of the auditory tube,

It is not recommended to do the washing immediately before going out. Doctors recommend to be at home during the warm period for half an hour after the procedure, during the cold period - at least two hours. Even with proper washing, part of the solution penetrates into the nasal sinuses. And when entering the street immediately after the procedure, the risk of their hypothermia increases.

Conservative treatment should be divided into two stages. The first is rinsing (spray injection), which removes excess fluid with swollen mucosa and the contents of the nasopharynx. There is also a stimulation of the receptors of the nose and local tissue immunity. As practice shows, after five or six procedures it is possible to get rid of the symptoms.

The second stage involves the use of a lubricant solution for the tonsils. For this, as a rule, "Lugol" or similar preparations are used. Cotton swab with ointment through the mouth with the help of a clamp is processed tonsils.

Homeopathic granules and herbal drops in the nose are prescribed as a fixation.
