Chemotherapy in Israel

Chemotherapy is a method of treating cancer, based on the use of drugs that inhibit the growth and development of pathogenic cells. This method in Israel is called systemic, as chemotherapeutic drugs affect the entire body. Thus, not only the tumor is affected, but also those cells circulating in the blood that did not find the usual tests and examinations.

However, it should be noted that healthy tissues are also exposed to drugs, but nevertheless, the risk is justified - chemotherapy in many cases makes it possible to regress the tumor, and sometimes complete recovery.

Chemotherapy in Israel is very effective, because the most modern drugs and techniques are used. It should be noted that many medicines and innovative methods have been developed in this country, which is very advantageous in distinguishing the quality of medical services.

In Israeli clinics, chemotherapy is used as the main drug treatment for cancer, which is used in the early stages of the disease. It can be combined with radiotherapy, surgery, or as an independent method.

Chemotherapy in Israel, as an independent type of treatment is used for oncohematological diseases (blood cancer). This is due to the fact that in other cases the drugs used can not cope with the tissues that have formed, which means that they are not effective against tumors.

Types of chemotherapy in Israel

  1. Adjuvant chemotherapy is a treatment in the absence of an obvious tumor process, therefore, the main goal is to detect and eliminate latent metastases.
  2. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy - treatment before a surgical operation to reduce the tumor to a size that does not hurt other organs.
  3. Induction chemotherapy - treatment of a tumor for the possibility of surgery and removal of tumors.
  4. Treatment chemotherapy - chemotherapy in the presence of a tumor focus.

Side effects

The chemotherapy in Israel can include more than 100 drugs. As already mentioned, toxic effects occur both on cancer cells and healthy ones and can cause the following actions:

  • hair loss,
  • Fatigue,
  • Anemia,
  • Nausea and vomiting,
  • stomatitis,
  • Diarrhea or constipation,
  • Infertility, cessation of menstruation,
  • Weakened immunity,
  • Defeat of the heart and kidney muscles.

The peculiarity of chemotherapy treatment is that healthy cells in composition do not differ from cancer cells. It is for this reason that medicines have an effect on cancer cells unaffected by cancer, which requires long intervals between sessions.

However, in Israel it became possible in chemotherapy to use the most modern drugs that have less toxic effect. Therefore, recently it can often be heard that the patient underwent a course of chemotherapy easier than expected. Also it allows to reduce to a minimum the probability of development of collateral diseases, which develop due to the dazzling of the human immune system.

In addition, much attention is paid to the use of strengthening and supporting agents.

As a rule, drugs are delivered to the body in 3 ways:

  1. Intramuscularly,
  2. In the form of capsules and tablets,
  3. Intravenous is the most common method.

A number of clinical studies have been conducted to determine the optimal dosage and duration of oncology treatment. Based on these studies, experts concluded:

1) Chemotherapy with complex composition is more effective in comparison with monotherapy;

2) the interval between repeated courses should be at least 3-6 months;

3) extra repeated courses of chemotherapy do not lead to the fastest achievement of the effect, but only increase the toxic effect on the body.
