"Nissan Primera" P12: description, technical specifications, photo

The last representative, closing the line of mid-range cars Nissan Primera, is the Nissan Primera model P12. Reviews of car owners indicate that it is not worth waiting for anything supernatural from the car. For all three generations, it could not demonstrate a high level of aerodynamic and technical properties. Unfortunately, the quality of running and safety is also not very pleasing to owners. However, you do not need to completely reject the car. Among the representatives of its segment model "Nissan Primera" P12 is not the last place, but most likely a "golden mean", where the price fully corresponds to the quality.

A bit of history

"Nissan Primera" with the index P12 represents the third generation of this brand. Its mass production began in 2002. This model has become the successor of the Infiniti G20. Despite the average performance, the car immediately became popular. However, after 5 years, demand for it significantly decreased, and manufacturers decided in 2007 to completely stop its release.

Over the years of production, the Nissan Primera P12 was introduced in three body styles. This sedan, station wagon and hatchback. However, the latter did not differ much from the sedan. In comparison with previous generations, the design of this model became more dynamic and even bold, which was to the liking of motorists. In 2004 the company carried out restyling, the results of which were changes in the interior. In particular, the finishing materials were replaced with better materials, the level of comfort was improved and much attention was paid to ergonomics.

Dimensions

In order to have an idea about the model of the Nissan Primera P12, it is worth analyzing its overall dimensions. Since there were several types of bodywork, then of course, and their sizes are different. The length varies between 4565-4570 mm. The width of all is constant - 1760 mm. As for the height, this figure is almost the same - 1480 mm. The wheels are 16 inches in diameter, the clearance is 150 mm, the wheelbase is 2680 mm. These dimensions correspond to all types of bodies.

Exterior

Every car enthusiast pays special attention to the exterior design of the car. What awaits them in the Nissan Primera model P12? Let's start from the front. The first thing I want to pay attention to is the radiator grille. It has an original bifurcated form. From the side it seems that it is made in such a way as to concentrate attention on the head optics. Headlights, in turn, are large enough, remotely resemble the shape of a drop, however with more strict and straight lines. On the hood, three ribs are clearly pronounced. Thanks to them, the V-style is seen in the design of the front of the car.

Behind you can see the smooth lines, which are clearly visible in the form of glass, the boot lid, the bumper. The tail lights are the same as the front ones, large enough, stretched from top to bottom.

"Nissan Primera" P12: engine performance

For the domestic buyer the car was equipped with different petrol engines. But diesel engines were designed only for sales in Europe.

Virtually all motors have a similar design. A two-liter engine stands out against the general background. It, unlike others, is equipped with balancing shafts. The most high-quality and reliable motorists consider the power plant 1.6 liters (4 cylinders), even considering its modest technical characteristics (109 "horses"). On the engine at 1.8 liters there is information from which it follows that this unit requires a large amount of oil. Replacing the rings for a short time saves the situation, but basically you have to change the whole block. After the restyling of 2004, the 2.0 l engine was significantly modified. Due to the fact that the control unit was reprogrammed, the consumption of gasoline and oil dropped significantly.

All the engines described above came complete with an automatic and manual gearbox.
