Sergey Voronov is a figure skater who performs in solo skating. He is the champion of Russia (2 times), the vice-champion of Europe and the numerous prize-winner of the largest tournaments.

Childhood

The future figure skater was born in Moscow. Thanks to his parents, he got on skates in four years. They entrusted their child to Rafael Harutyunyan - a coach with many years of experience. Sergey Voronov is a figure skater who worked hard from early childhood, trying to bring all the elements to perfection. In 2002, Harutyunyan left for the United States. The young man could not follow him, since he was underage. Sergey decided to move to St. Petersburg. Galina Kashina became the new coach of the future champion.

Carier start

After training with Kashin there was discontent, which Sergey Voronov regularly showed. The skater was upset by the cooperation with Galina, as it did not bring success. The new mentor of the boy was Alexei Urmanov, who helped the young athlete successfully start on the ice. In 2005, Sergei won silver at the junior championship. This award allowed him to participate in the World Cup in 2006. But Voronov was injured and could not go there. Next season, Sergei began with the 2nd place in the Russian Championship. The Grand Prix was waiting for him in 2006-2007. This time he competed with adults and took only the sixth position, not having received the right to participate in the European Championships. But at the World Cup he performed very well, becoming the nineteenth.

Unsuccessful seasons

2007-2008 were not very successful because of the health problems experienced by Sergei Voronov. The skater could not perform the jumps in full force, nevertheless he scored a number of significant victories: the first place in the Russian Championship, the fourth at the European Championships and the seventh at the World Cup.

Performances of the figure skater in the Grand Prix went with varying success. The last was unsuccessful, and until the World Cup stayed only a month. Together with coach Voronov decided to change the short program, picking up new music. As a result, he confirmed his status by becoming a champion.

Participation in 2009 in the European Championships brought a completely different place, which skater Sergey Voronov was counting on. Only the performance turned out not so good, as Sergey Voronov planned. The skater picked up the short program and got to the fourteenth place. This event affected the inclusion of him in the Olympic team. In the case of a higher place, Sergei could go as the main athlete. And so he was included in the team as a reserve.

At the World Cup in Turin, Voronov was also planned as a reserve. But the removal from the competition Evgeni Plushenko for health reasons allowed Sergei to enter the main team. The skater occupied the fourteenth place. After this, the young man decided to stop cooperation with Alexei Urmanov.

Finding a trainer

However soon the sportsman has left also from this instructor. For some time he did not even look for a coach, but then on the advice of Tatiana Tarasova came to Eteri Tutberidze. Tarasova herself helped Voronov with programs and music. The new mentor fell in Sergei's liking. The athlete believes that thanks to Eteri Georgievna, he will be able to create a new image and reach a higher level.
