Chatter is what?

In a fast-moving modern world, believers do not always find enough time to deal with all the subtleties of the Orthodox tradition. We go to the temple on weekends, we pray at home, but what else do we know about the rules of behavior and special days? You, for example, can explain: the warning is what? People, as a rule, remember that the term is associated with fasting. Let's take a closer look at everything, understand what it means to be "alerted", when it happens, and how to spend that day.

Let's turn to dictionaries

Scientists especially for us wrote a bunch of handbooks containing the interpretation of any term. According to the dictionary of DN Ushakov, the heading is the last day before the Orthodox fast. The word consists of a root and a prefix. So it should be disassembled. "Tenderness" means "fasting," that is, to observe certain restrictions related to eating. The prefix, in our case, refers to the period preceding the one pointed to by the root. We unite together and get the day to fast. In fact, it is perceived by believers as a kind of holiday. People prepare spiritually and physically for the upcoming tests. Do not think that fasting is something ordinary. Restricting themselves to food and entertainment, believers strengthen their spirit, correct mistakes of the past, gain the grace of the Lord. This is a serious test for a real person, because the art during the post will be everywhere.

Why did you decide to allocate this day?

Heading is the precursor of hardship. However, the believing person is not afraid, on the contrary, he welcomes with all his heart. Fasting helps to prove to oneself that the soul is directed to the Lord, therefore, it will find the Kingdom of Heaven. In fact, believers with humility and gratitude accept four times a year to commit themselves to limiting their natural needs. There is nothing bitter or negative about this. Fasting is an ordinary tradition for the upbringing of the spirit. And it is necessary to meet him joyfully, without displeasure or despondency. That is why it is customary for Orthodox Christians to celebrate a holiday. This is the day when the hostess can shine with her talents, she can cover the table and invite guests. Preparing meat dishes, from which for the following period, believers voluntarily refuse the glory of the Lord. You can eat with pleasure, so to speak, in reserve. The only thing that is undesirable at such a festive feast is alcohol. This is from the spiritual point of view is bad, and the body is harmful. It is better to discuss with friends about the forthcoming works, to prepare for the post, to remind each other of its strict rules.

What does "fasting on the post" mean

Let's go to our phraseology on the other side. Prevailing is getting joy before restraint. The Lord created everything in our land for his children. He does not force believers to give up gifts. They themselves hold fasting to show gratitude to the Lord, to show Him devotion. This is not really a lesson, as they often write about fasting. In fact, restrictions people take on themselves voluntarily, experiencing another joy from being able to be with the Lord constantly, regardless of external circumstances. The believer is more interested in the immortal soul, and not with the pleasures of the body. This he proves to himself and the Lord by adhering to the strict rules of fasting, this is the period that matters. The heading still carries a different inner meaning in this respect. Let's analyze it in more detail.

Our relationship with the Lord

We decided with you that the world was created for all the inhabitants who inhabit it. The Lord did this for us, to give happiness to people. But by limiting ourselves, are we doing the right thing? Refusing the gifts, do we offend the Creator? Of course, this is not so. The Lord teaches that the soul is more important than the body, it is about its purity that should be taken care of first. For this, the world is created. It has everything for acquiring grace, that is, performing good, bright, kind deeds. The fasting to the post arose as a tribute of gratitude to the Lord for gifts. We enjoy food, fellowship, showing Him how much we appreciate everything around us. And the next day we undertake the test of limitation, continuing to thank the Creator. In a spiritual sense, everything happens logically, there is no abrupt transition from one state to another. The body feels different.

About devilish temptations

Sometimes people who do not understand Orthodox traditions very often think that the heading is from the unclean. After all, people enjoy food on this day, rejoice that it is and is allowed. How is this different from the devil's temptation? In fact, everything is completely wrong, these are wrong thoughts. Temptation is the desire of that which runs counter to the conscience. For example, you watch TV during the post, and there they advertise a beautiful boiled pork. A man who has not eaten meat for a long time, wants to taste a piece. But he also undertook to fast! It turns out that his desire contradicts conscience. Of course, you can secretly eat meat, no one will see. Only the conscience will already be unclean. It turns out that this unstable person betrays himself, no one else. No one controls the observance of fasting, in any case, is not obliged. This is a voluntary commitment in the name of the glory of the Lord.

Some medical restrictions

When you understand what it means to go on a fast to keep the traditions, do not forget about the needs of the body. It happens that people become too zealous to relate to religion, they try to do everything exactly as expected. And of course, here you can overdo it. On the heading, you should not throw everything into your mouth. Remember that food should be digested, and not "break" the stomach. When holding fasting there is a rule: sick and small people do not join it because of lack of energy for such a serious test. Pregnancy should also be carried out, remembering your body and its capabilities. After all, the essence of the tradition is in the spiritual realm, and not in the very enjoyment of the products with which you leave for the time being.

Some features of the tradition

Votserkovlennye people give out two days a week: Wednesday and Friday, when it is desirable not to overload the body, eat less. If the drop-off falls on such periods, it is celebrated ahead of time. For example, you have a day before a fast on Wednesday, then it's better to postpone it on Tuesday. The rule is not mandatory. Whether they should be guided, consult their conscience. Orthodox traditions arouse great interest and respect in society. Someone thinks that he can cleanse his conscience by performing all the rites. Others are sure of the obligation to implement them. All this is not entirely true. Traditions and rules were created by our ancestors. They stood the test of time, experienced various political constructions, no godless fighters could rid them of them. And all because these traditions help the soul to strive for the Lord. Try to follow the advice of the priest, thinking about the acquisition of grace.
