"Charge" - a park in Moscow. Philharmonic in the park "Charge"
"Charge" - a park, being built in Moscow on the site of the former hotel "Russia". According to the project, the green zone is conceived as a combination of the urban and natural landscape, a unique pearl that beautifies the city. In the park it is planned to collect a huge number of plants from all over the country. And the projected philharmonic society promises to become a modern concert hall of world level, attracting not only city dwellers, but also numerous guests of the capital. Thus, Moscow will soon acquire a new business card.
Idea and the beginning of construction
The idea of creating a green zone appeared three years ago. And in 2013 they announced an international competition to develop a concept, which will build a park "Zaryadie". The winning project is the creation of American company Diller Scofidio + Renfo. By the way, they are authors of the famous New York green zone High Line.
The concept of the park
No doubt, it is worth saying a few words about the project that won the contest. The general concept of the park is based on the principles of landscape urbanism. This means that the project is based on close interaction between the city and nature. In another way it can not be, because "Charge" is being built in the center of the capital, in close proximity to the Kremlin and Red Square.
The park will combine the characteristic features of the surrounding areas. This is the historical quarters of China-city, and the magnificent Kremlin gardens. At the same time, the park will feature a unique diversity of the plant world. It is planned to collect trees from all over the country, recreating the four landscape and climatic zones that exist in Russia. This forest, tundra, steppe and flood meadows. They will intersect and bizarrely mix, creating a peculiar and unique appearance of the green zone. It is interesting that visitors will not impose certain routes for walking. Trees will grow freely.
Course of construction
The creation of the green zone began in the spring of this year. In particular, the underground pavilions of the Zaryadie Park are being filled with earth. The fact is that under the hotel complex "Russia", on the site of which construction is underway, there remains a large number of multi-level areas that need to be cleaned and leveled. This part of the work will take about six months.
In the near future, the creation of a pit for the philharmonic society will begin. It is interesting that anyone can look at the progress of the construction. This became possible thanks to a special information pavilion. It works every day and is a unique gallery depicting the past, present and future of the district, the way a grandiose project is implemented and the Zaryadie Park is gradually emerging. When all the planned objects are built, the pavilion will organically fit into the boundaries of the green zone and, possibly, will be included in the number of attractions. It is interesting that in the evenings the pavilion glows, attracting tourists.
Philharmonic on the territory
The modern Philharmonic promises to be the pearl of the Zaryadie Park. According to the project, the main hall will accommodate about one and a half thousand spectators. Also in it will be held and chamber concerts, which guests can become up to 150-200 visitors. Philharmonic Society in the park "Zariadye" and acoustics in it are developed together with leading experts from Japan. Before that, they were engaged in sound at the Moscow Conservatory.
The construction of the Philharmonic is planned to be completed by the opening of the park. The mayor's office believes that it will become an object of world scale and a worthy contribution to the cultural life of Moscow. It is interesting that both the Philharmonic itself and the open amphitheater will be located under a transparent dome made of glass. It will protect park visitors from scorching sun and rain.
It is planned that the open amphitheater will accommodate about four thousand spectators. It will broadcast events that take place in the Philharmonic, as well as open concerts. Under the dome will create a special microclimate - there will always be warmth.
Underground parking
In addition to the park and the Philharmonic, it is planned to build an underground car park on the territory of Zaryadye. It will occupy an area of about 37 thousand square meters. Its construction is already under way: a foundation slab is being poured. Parking will accommodate up to five hundred cars. This will help a little to relieve the tense traffic situation in the central part of the city.
Vintage Entertainment
Zaryadye Park in Moscow will not only be a bright project and a comfortable place to relax, but also the heart of native Russian entertainment. It is a symbolic landmark of the capital - Pskov Hill.
As the architects of the project expect, in the winter it will become a central place for fun sledging and festive Shrovetide events and festivities. It will be the main snow-capped city with a rolled out river. According to some metropolitan historians, its restoration will be a genuine revival of the Russian spirit.
A bit from the story of Charge
Charge is the historical part of the capital. It was formed in the XII-XIII centuries and was the main trading area.
In 1534-1538, the Kitaigorod wall was built, separating Zaryadie from the Moscow River. But in 1782 the area again acquired an outlet on the shore thanks to the breakout gate.
The fire of 1812 destroyed all the houses in Zaryad'e. New buildings were made of stone. At the same time on the first floor there were various shops, and on the upper floor the owners of shops located at the bottom lived.
Everything again changed in the 30s of the last century - the demolition of the historic district began, affecting even the ancient wall of China-city. In the charge were going to build whole complexes of multi-storey houses. However, these projects have not been implemented. And only in the 60's the hotel "Russia" was built here. But already in 2006-2007. In the framework of the project to return the area to its former appearance, it was demolished. In its place and will be built "Charge" - a park, so intricately combining the past and the future.
"Charge" - the pearl of the capital
By combining the historical color and modern technologies, natural resources and urban architecture, Zaryadie promises to become a favorite place for recreation of residents and guests of the capital. Its area will be more than 13 hectares. According to the project, "Charge" will be able to receive more than ten million visitors a year. And this means that the changes will affect the transport infrastructure of the capital.
For the convenience of visitors traffic will be reduced, and the number of sidewalks, on the contrary, will increase. The park will offer its guests a wide variety of entertainment: walks in the picturesque gardens, exciting winter tobogganing, fishing, as well as concerts in the Philharmonic and live performances. Performers will perform as well-known artists all over the world, as well as young musicians. The concerts will be free of charge.
Within the green zone, it is also planned to place a viewing platform "floating bridge", from which the surroundings will be perfectly visible; A fascinating ice cave, as well as numerous cafes, cozy restaurants and souvenir shops.
