Cast-iron frying pans are a reasonable choice for a modern housewife!

One of the most ancient materials used in the kitchen is cast iron. Pans made of cast iron are the most common utensils. It is difficult to find a mistress who does not have such dishes in her arsenal. Cast-iron frying pans can be found in the restaurant, where from this material, both cauldrons and pots are made.

Cast iron has a considerable number of useful properties. First of all, the heat capacity of the alloy itself, the heating occurs gradually and evenly. When the fire is turned off, the cast iron begins to cool slowly. Heating also occurs gradually, this can not but affect positively on certain types of dishes, and it also has a beneficial effect on the life of such a pan.

In connection with the uniformity of the processes of both heating and cooling, the volume of oil that is required for preparing the dish is almost halved, the dishes become more useful and dietary.

Cast-iron frying pans have one more important advantage: considerable time saving in the process of cooking. When the cooker is already off, the frying pan remains warm for a while, that is, the cooking process does not stop immediately. Housewives with experience actively use this property of a cast-iron frying pan, leaving the dish to "ripen" when the cooker itself is already off.

Cast iron frying pans possess non-stick property, which is acquired in the process of their application. When frying takes place, the pores of this frying pan are covered with oil, and if it is used for a long time, a high-quality non-stick layer is formed. If we compare cast iron with Teflon coating, the second quickly loses its non-stick properties. The toxicity of new products is also in question, this has been argued for more than a year.

Studies conducted by British scientists have shown that pans with Teflon coating have a negative impact on human health. It was found that during the heating process, irrespective of whether the Teflon is damaged or not, it releases harmful substances that can provoke obesity, heart problems, and also undermine the functioning of the thyroid gland. In addition, Teflon coating can be dangerous for the nine types of cells that are involved in the functioning of the human immune system.

Despite the fact that Teflon coating greatly facilitates the process of preparing dishes, this advantage goes to the background, taking into account that this substance has a negative impact on people's health. Knowing this, it is better to give preference to frying pans made of cast iron, which have only advantages.

Cast-iron frying pans need special care. Even our grandmothers and mothers before you start using such a frying pan, have necessarily washed it under a stream of hot water and carefully wiped. After that, they poured salt on its bottom and put it in an oven or oven, then it spilled out, and the frying pan inside was smeared with a layer of fat or vegetable oil. This procedure does not take much time, it can easily be replicated by any modern hostess.

To cast iron frying pans are not rusted, after contact with water they need to be wiped clean with a towel. In addition, the process of washing them by hand, without the use of a dishwasher, will help prevent rust.
