Candles 'Neo-Penotran'. Instructions for use

Candles "Neo-Penotran" are considered a very effective tool in the fight against infectious diseases. The drug is often prescribed for thrush (candidiasis).

In suppositories "Neo-Pentotran" contains metronidazole, which has anti-trichomoniasis and antibacterial properties, and miconazole, which has an antifungal effect. Miconazole nitrate is very effective against pathogenic fungi, Gram-positive microorganisms. Metronidazole is active in relatively simple and anaerobic microbes.

The drug "Neo-Penotran" instruction recommends the use in the therapy of vaginitis and vaginal candidiasis, triggered by trichomonads, other bacteria or mixed infections.

Suppositories are intended for insertion into the vagina.

If the doctor does not have another scheme, one suppository is injected deep into the vagina in the morning and evening (at night) for a week or only overnight for two weeks. A special cap is attached to the suppositories. With his help, the introduction is carried out.

In case of repeated appearance of pathology or lack of therapeutic effectiveness when using other methods, it is recommended to inject one candle deep into the vagina for two weeks.

For patients older than sixty-five, the scheme of application of the drug is similar to that indicated.

Suppositories "Neo-Pentotran" instruction does not allow prescribing to children.

Candles should not be swallowed or used by anyone other than the one indicated in the annotation.

To the contra-indications to the use of the means "Neo-Pentotran" the instruction relates hypersensitivity to the ingredients, porphyria, severe renal disorders. The drug is not prescribed for epilepsy. Contraindicated suppositories "Neo-Pentotran" during pregnancy (in the first trimester).

When using candles, reactions associated with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug are possible. Probably the appearance of abdominal pain, inflammation, burning or itching of the vagina.

When describing adverse events during treatment with Neo-Penotran, the instruction indicates a low frequency of negative systemic reactions due to poor absorption of metronidazole through the vaginal walls. Thus, the concentration of this component is low enough in the blood. Along with this, irritation in the vagina can provoke miconazole nitrate. However, the nature of this side effect is identical to that arising from intravaginal use of antifungal imidazole derivatives.

With vaginitis, inflammation of the vaginal mucosa can provoke symptoms of irritation (itching or burning) after the administration of the first candle or on the third day of therapy. As practice shows, discomfort during the continuation of treatment is eliminated. However, with increased irritation, the drug should be discontinued.

The use of Neo-Pentotrans suppositories in the second and third trimester of the prenatal period is allowed according to the prescription of the doctor and under his regular supervision.

If it is necessary to carry out therapy while breastfeeding, lactation should be discontinued. It can be resumed after twenty-four to forty-eight hours after the termination of the use of the Neo-Pentotran suppositories.

It is not recommended to drink alcohol during therapy and for two days after its termination.

The suppository base can interact with rubber and latex.

Before prescribing the drug should be carried out bacteriological analysis.

The use of "Neo-Pentotran" candles should be agreed with a specialist. Before using suppositories, you need to carefully study the annotation.
