Breeding rabbits as a business: we organize a farm. Business from scratch to grow rabbits

Breeding rabbits as a business is quite a profitable business, if you take it seriously. Dietary rabbit meat enjoys a consistently high demand. The profitability of rabbit breeding is determined by its wastage. In addition to meat, you can realize skin, and even the insides of these animals. Ironically, the manure of rabbits is unique, because it is the best fertilizer.

Before you decide to create a rabbit breeding business, you need to solve several issues, namely: select the breeds of rabbits and the method of their cultivation. There is a large number of breeds and technologies, but the decision must be made independently, based on available financial and labor resources.

Before starting the implementation of the idea, it is necessary to become acquainted with the peculiarities of keeping, feeding and reproduction of animals. The first step is to determine the method of growing rabbits. It must be remembered that this is a complex matter, requiring long and painstaking work in order to obtain good results.

Growing rabbits (business from scratch)

There are several methods for growing rabbits.

  • Purebred - mating of one breed of rabbits.
  • Crossing is a mating of different breeds.

The method of Mikhailov and the breeding of animals in pits are also common.

In order to get an answer to the question "how to do business on rabbits?", It is necessary to familiarize yourself with all the proposed technologies, choose the right one and gradually implement it.

Purebreeding method of cultivation

This method involves the pairing of rabbits of a particular breed. A female is selected for the male, as close as possible to its productivity and physique.
The purpose of this selection is: fixing the desired type of rabbits in the herd, strengthening certain valuable qualities of young animals and increasing the number of highly productive animals.

Sometimes pick up a pair of rabbits with a certain outstanding trait to fix it in the future offspring. At the same time they look at other indicators, especially over the state of health: has it worsened? This method is used to produce meat, fuzz and skins of rabbits of a certain breed. Along with the purebreeding method of breeding, crossing is used, that is, mating of different breeds of rabbits.

Crossing

It is used to develop new and improve existing breeds of animals. Any farm for breeding rabbits predominantly uses a crossing. In comparison with "pure" breeds, animals obtained as a result of this method are distinguished by accelerated growth, less feed intake per kilogram of weight, high fertility and viability.

There are several types of crossing.

  • Reproductive - breeding new breeds of rabbits.
  • Introductory - the change in a certain indicator of the productivity of animals (single crossing).
  • Absorption - a radical change in low-productive breed due to its absorption of highly productive.
  • Industrial - the receipt of marketable young animals, meat, down, skins and other. Industrial breeding of rabbits by crossing is widespread on commodity farms.

Breeding in pits

Breeding rabbits as a business initially practiced in pits. To date, this approach is practically not applied. The method of breeding in pits is relevant in the possession of a land plot or premises of a small area. It was used in the absence of the necessary time for feeding, caring for rabbits, and also with limited finances, when money for the construction or purchase of equipment is not enough.

From the name it follows that rabbits are kept in pits. The depth of such pits - 1 m, width and length - at the discretion of the owner. In one well, up to 200 heads can be placed.

On the floor of the pit is put a metal mesh, a mound made of sand is made. The walls of the pit should be scoured and leave a small area in one of them, where a burrow is dug 10-15 cm above the floor level. The dimensions of the burrow must be quite large so that 3 rabbits can pass through it simultaneously. Placing the burrow above the floor is done so that the urine does not drain inside, as the rabbits urinate at the entrance.

To protect against atmospheric precipitation, a pit must necessarily have a roof. Life without light has a bad effect on the development and growth of rabbits, so it should make a glass window or light a pit with an electric bulb. A 40 Watt light bulb, for example, is suitable for a pit of 10 square meters. Meters.

Along the walls of the pit, feeders and drinkers are placed from different containers, which must be sufficiently wide and not very deep. This will avoid crowding and will allow rabbits to reach the feed or water without effort.

Rabbits as a business are quite profitable business, but the method of growing in pits is far from being the most profitable. Advantages of this technology: small financial costs, the ability to keep a large number of rabbits in a small area, the lack of drafts, quick payback. Disadvantages: small weight of rabbits due to frequent diseases, difficulty with tribal distribution.

The Mikhailov method

This method is aimed at the formation of natural immunity. The method of Mikhailov for growing rabbits leads to an increase in the quality of animals. The author of this method is not a supporter of classical breeding, since it does not provide an opportunity to achieve the real genetic potential of these mammals. In addition, the rabbit breeding business means keeping animals in cages, which leads to frequent stresses and high mortality of young animals. Mikhailov's method avoids such undesirable moments.

The essence of the Mikhailov method

In the conventional variant of growing rabbits, their feeding occurs no more than 3 times / day, and according to Mikhailov's method - up to 80 times / day.

As a rule, young animals are fed milk of rabbits for about a month, and according to Mikhailov's technology this should be continued until 3 months. This innovative method allows you to minimize the investment needed to create a rabbit farm.

The result of Mikhailov's approach is the accelerated rabbits. On average, every 3 months they bring in 10 rabbits. These characteristics of breeding make it possible to significantly increase the profitability of the business, that is, to increase its effectiveness. It should be noted that skins and meat of rabbits-accelerates are much better than in animals of classical cultivation.

Cells for industrial breeding rabbits are significantly different from those proposed by Mikhailov. The latter are represented by three tiers. On the north side, such cells are equipped with a thick insulated wall, and with the southern, on the contrary, an open wall that allows sunlight and fresh air. This favorably affects the growth and development of rabbits.

The area of the cell is 1.4 square meters. Meter. It provides automatic mode for a long time. Within the tiers are latticed floors, beneath which there are mines shaped like pyramids. The work of the cell is based on the principle of the stove: the gases from the room with the droppings emerge upward along the exhaust pipe, fresh air from outside comes in parallel. One such cell can host up to 30 rabbits. On average, in practice, 13-15 heads are placed in the cells.

Any profitable enterprise has a clear development plan. A well-considered business plan for breeding rabbits is the key to successful and profitable work.

Production part

Breeding rabbits according to Mikhailov's method implies their maintenance on special mini-farms. One mini-farm requires up to 500 kg of mixed fodder and about 250 kg of hay per year. One rabbit-accelerator for a year eats about 14 kg of forage and up to 7 kg of hay. The output of the product is 1 animal (5 kg) for 10 days. The period of turnover of money capital is 100 days.

There are various models of farms for growing rabbits, among which there are two-tiered. The number of mini farms in the farm depends only on the owner of the business, but it should be noted that they do not require large plots. For example, a rabbit farm of 16 mini-farms will only take one hundred square meters of land. Servicing such production is possible only once a week at a productivity of 10 rabbits a week.

Mini-farms require certain heating at a temperature below +10 C with an energy consumption of 30 watts.

Breeding rabbits as a business is not limited to the multiplication of livestock animals. To achieve maximum production efficiency, it is necessary to organize a personal shop for processing products, a workshop for tailoring clothes, and a site for the production of biohumus.

Costs and revenues

The cost of manufacturing a mini-farm, without additional equipment, can vary in the range of 5-20 thousand rubles. If you decide to do it yourself, it will be cheaper, decide to use the services of professionals - it will, accordingly, be more expensive.

In order for production to be effective, it is necessary to organize from 300 mini-farms. The costs in this case will be about 350 thousand rubles (excluding taxes and the farms themselves). Revenues are about 1.5 million rubles.

Market analysis

This section of the business plan should contain a description of similar farms in your region, specify wholesale and retail buyers and their purchases.

Production plan

The first step in organizing an economy is to find the right land. The best option would be a site with the lowest rent. With this one should not forget that the minimum area of the site for full-fledged work is 5 hectare of land - it will be able to accommodate the cells and subsidiary structures themselves.

The next step will be the purchase or construction of cells, depending on your decision - to save or give up the functionality of the finished cells. Next - the purchase of livestock. This business plan assumes an initial population of 60 herds, among them 20 males and 40 females.

Sales plan

In order not to remain with surpluses, the sales plan needs to be thought through and calculated before the organization of the business. The main buyers of rabbit meat are markets, supermarkets, private traders. Skins are often bought by fur studios and private designers. An important factor in the success of marketing is the proximity of megacities.

Financial plan

Breeding rabbits as a business requires the development of a thorough financial plan. Here, the costs incurred by the production and the revenues from it are indicated.

Costs

The lease of the land plot is 20-80 thousand rubles.

The purchase (construction) of cells - 10-40 thousand.

Purchase of rabbits (60 heads) - 18-30 thousand.

Mixed fodder - 50 - 100 thousand.

The salary of the hired worker is 120 thousand a year.

Total costs - 218-370 thousand in the first year.

Income

The sale of meat - 1.5 tons per year at 200-250 rubles per kilogram (300-375 thousand rubles). These figures are taken in connection with the fact that 40 rabbits average 20 Rabbits per year for 1.8-1.9 kg per year. Total - 800 rabbits weighing 1500 kg.

Realization of skins - 160 thousand (200 rubles for a skin, 800 skins).

Total income - 460-535 thousand rubles / year.

In general, the payback of such an economy will be no more than a year, if you take the business seriously.
