"Boeing-797" - the world's best passenger aircraft

The American corporation The Boeing Company is the largest on the market manufacturers of air equipment, both civil and military. In 2012, the company announced a new project and announced that it is developing the Boeing-797, which promises to become the most capacious, comfortable and reliable passenger aircraft in the world. The main task of the designers was to put not only the application of new aviation ideas, but also to improve the comfort of the liner, because only in this case the development will be guaranteed success.

The struggle for leadership

The main competitor of The Boeing Company is the concern Airbus SAS, which arose through the merger of several major aircraft manufacturers in Europe. Their Airbus A380 is still the largest airliner in the world. With a cabin that has three classes of comfort, the aircraft can take on board 525 passengers, and with a one-class system more than eight hundred. The range of the A380 is 15 thousand kilometers. However, Boeing intends to beat these figures.

Innovations

The aircraft uses the so-called flying wing system. This is not a novelty for aviation as a whole, however, on a civil airliner the technology will be realized for the first time. From military aircraft flying wing was used in the stealth bomber B-2. The new aircraft will be huge, with a capacity of about a thousand people. The wingspan of the Boeing-797 model is about eighty meters, which is thirty percent more than the Boeing 747's.

The passenger liner will accommodate up to a thousand passengers and will be able to cover distances of up to 20 thousand kilometers. However, this brings in its drawbacks: an aircraft of this size can not overcome the sound barrier. On the other hand, for transportation of passengers such large speeds are not needed. The streamlined form of the Boeing-797 will allow it to make maneuvers in airspace more qualitatively, but the absence of the tail part will reduce the speed of these maneuvers. To solve this problem, special shunting engines can be used.

Why is the "wing" better?

The new design of the wings makes it possible to increase the lift by 50%, while the mass will decrease by 25%. This gives the new model of Boeing the opportunity to overcome distances of tens of thousands of kilometers. Due to the rigidity of the case, the pressure on it decreases, as well as the turbulence. All this affects not only the flight characteristics, but also the comfort of passengers. Inside the liner, people will experience smaller overloads than when flying in a standard tubular airplane. In addition, the ability to take on board such a number of passengers at lower fuel costs will reduce the price of tickets, which is especially important for long-distance flights, when the cost of the flight can reach several tens of thousands of rubles.

Future

It is still unknown when the new Boeing-797, whose photo is presented in this article, will appear in the sky, but it is awaited with impatience. It is also impossible to hurry here, because this is the first passenger liner using the technology of the flying wing, and designers have to take into account a lot of factors. Despite the fact that a preliminary order for 159 aircraft has been made, it can not be expected that after the appearance of the new Boeing, all airlines will become a "flying wing". Local airlines, local flights for certain will long enjoy the old aircraft. However, with the advent of such an economical liner with a large capacity, we should expect a sharp drop in prices for long-distance flights. Cargo transportation will also become much more profitable, in connection with which the supply of remote corners of the world with products and various means will improve. This is especially important in the scale of our country.

One thing is clear: the Boeing 797 will start the era of new civil aircraft that will replace the obsolete tubular. Despite the fact that the release date has not even been officially announced, experts are already trumpeting about a coup in civil aviation.
