Belogorsky Monastery, Perm Territory. Belogorsky Monastery: Opening Hours
In Russia, there are many holy places where thousands of pilgrims flock, believers and sufferers - in search of spiritual purification, getting rid of the ills of bodily, moral enlightenment and simply to embrace spiritual beauty. One of these centers, "places of power", is rightly considered a male monastery in the Perm region, for the severity of the statute and the holiness of the services nicknamed the people "Athos the Urals".
Journey to the Urals
So, let's go to the White Mountain, which for a long time after the onset of spring flaunts its lush snow cap among other peaks of the Urals ridge. By the way, hence the name steep! There is a natural complex about 120 km from the regional city of Perm. It was here that the Belogorsky Monastery was once built. Perm Region - beautiful places, with amazing nature, harsh and simple at the same time. It is also unassuming and majestic, like the people who inhabited these places from time immemorial and live here now. And the holy monastery, called St. Nicholas, organically fits into its architecture in the surrounding landscape. By the nature of its activities, it refers to spiritual missionary institutions. And in 40 km from the parish is a small town of Kungur. Thus, the main attraction of the surrounding area is the Belogorsky Monastery. The Perm region can no longer be represented without it.

The second life of the monastery
Again, funds began to be collected. A huge number of people took part in the donations. Contributions were from ordinary parishioners - poor burghers and peasants. The famous residents of Perm and Kungur, industrialists, merchants, patrons of various kinds, cultural and art workers of the region, neighboring clergy and the churches of the capital - no one remained aloof from the good cause. And the money required a lot, because it was planned to erect a solid stone building, which is not afraid of fires, storms and other disasters.
The laying of a new cathedral, Krestovozdvizhenskogo, was therefore not soon, only in 1902. With God's help it was built almost a decade and a half, the architecture reflects a strict classical Byzantine style. Among the builders were primarily monks: they made bricks, laying masonry. The new building, beautiful in its strict grandeur, accommodated 8 thousand believers. Among the existing spiritual monasteries of local significance, the largest was the Belogorsky Monastery (Perm Territory, photos are attached). At the great celebration of the opening and consecration of the building there were about 30 thousand parishioners and pilgrims. This happened in the summer of 1917. It seemed that the monastery was waiting for many years of service to the light, kind, divine.
Revolution, repression, war
However, history makes its own adjustments to human plans. So the monastery, in order to become a truly hotbed of spirituality and true faith, had to endure a lot in its time. During the revolutionary battles and battles of the civil war, the monastery was repeatedly plundered and desecrated. Were cruelly tortured, drowned in Kama or shot by representatives of the leading clergy headed by Archimandrite Varlaam, as well as almost all rank-and-file monks. The school for orphans, of course, was closed. Since 1923, the defiled house of God was used for torture chambers by the Cheka, the police. And since 1930, the same camp was opened here, where repressed and special settlers were held. A year later the building was adapted for the House of Disabled. Then there were various medical social institutions: during the Great Patriotic War, a rehabilitation center for the wounded and disabled veterans of the Second World War, labor and childhood, in which people were kept in conditions very far from civilized. Well, in 1980, Belogorie again flared up. At the cathedral even the domes burned out.
