Anglicanism is the official religion of Great Britain.

Great Britain is a country of free religion. Every citizen of the country is free to choose his faith, even if he is her only representative. But, nevertheless, most of the local residents are Christians, which is about 70% of the population, and they belong to the Anglican state church. Therefore, the official religion of Great Britain is considered to be Anglicanism.

Church of Great Britain

The head of the Anglican church is the monarch of the state, and the chief priest is the Archbishop of Kentberia, who makes the coronation. Among the believers there are adherents of such religions as Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism. There are convinced atheists, there are people who are convinced that a person does not need clergy to save the soul, and they are for all sorts of simplifications in the existing church rites. They are adherents of Presbyterianism.

Currently, the state structure of Great Britain is considered to be the state of the two churches, which are two branches of Christianity: recognized in the UK Anglican, and acting in Scotland Presbyterian. The dogmas of the Anglican church are close to the Protestant. And the management of church affairs and the conduct of divine services are similar to those that operate in the Catholic Church. So it was in the state structure that the officially accepted religion of Great Britain is absent in the territory of Wales and Northern Ireland.

The currents in the Anglican Church

In addition, there are three currents in the Anglican church. Adherents of the "high church", belonging to the British nobility, seek to preserve in the religion of Great Britain, inherited from Catholicism. Adherents of the "low church" consisting mainly of small and middle class entrepreneurs, on the contrary, seek to remove all the vestiges of Catholicism and bring the religion of Britain closer to the Protestant church. And the so-called "broad church" with its supporters, who do not want to change anything in the arrangement of the existing state religion.

Church and religion in the UK play a significant role in the life of the British. This is especially evident in the education of young people. Attention is paid to the creation of Sunday schools, as well as lessons in regular schools dedicated to prayer. Children are happy to participate in charitable events organized by church ministers. Active propaganda is conducted by the church among women. They are attracted to charitable organizations. Great is the help of the so-called Salvation Army, whose donations are given to and given to homeless children.

Religious education

An obligatory school subject in the schools of England, Wales and Scotland is to get acquainted with the major world religions. The main emphasis in the study is on Christianity as the main state religion. In the classroom, children are taught tolerance for all religious trends, emphasizing that every person is free to choose what he believes.

Children in training participate in daily prayer. Schools in Northern Ireland give the necessary minimum knowledge about world religions. In accordance with the desire of parents, children can be freed from lessons on the history of religion, but, as a rule, this is not done, because it is both interesting and informative, since this is a story.
