Beauty-Cleavia - a flower that can be taken care of by everyone

A clivia native from the humid subtropical forests of South Africa. This herbaceous plant from the family of Amaryllis has a long and even, about half a meter high, leaves that resemble belts. They are arranged fan-shaped and collected at the roots in a socket. The flowering of the clivia is beautiful and spectacular: on strong stems with a length of 40-50 cm, up to 25 fairly large funnel-shaped flowers can bloom simultaneously. Externally, the clivia very much resembles other popular houseplants , amaryllis or gipeastrum, but instead of a bulb it has fleshy, juicy roots.

Clevia - a flower, care for which, in general, is simple, although it has its own nuances. So, its roots are very sensitive, so it is recommended to replant the enema as rarely as possible. Do this usually not more often than every two to three years: the flower is simply transferred to another pot with the ground. Damage to the roots leads to their decay, and it, in turn, leads to the death of the plant. Therefore, if, despite all the precautions, one or more roots are broken during the transplantation, they should be sprinkled with ashes or pounded coal.

The pot for this plant should not be very large, then it will bloom more abundantly. In those years, when the transplant is not made, in early spring, you should carefully remove the top soil layer in the pot, replacing it with fresh earth. The recommended composition of the substrate is as follows: two parts of the sod land and one part of the land of humus, sand and peat. At the bottom should lay drainage. Clivia - a flower, care for which provides for moderate watering. For him, use permanent, soft water. Clivia does not tolerate stagnant water in the pot: the plant can not be "poured" in any case. The watering should be somewhat more abundant at the time of flowering, however, the rule applies to this flower: it is better to shorten than to pour. The earthly to whom in a pot must be periodically allowed to dry. Spray the plant is not necessary, but you can gently wipe the leaves from the dust.

Rusty cleavage - a flower, care for which is not particularly difficult - should be in a bright place, preferably on the east window sill. It should be protected from direct sun rays and, if necessary, shaded. The most comfortable temperature for the clivia in the summer is within + 20-25 degrees Celsius, in winter it should provide a rest period of at least two months at a temperature of + 12-14 degrees, starting from the end of October. Watering the cleavage, indoor flower with a pronounced rest period, requires at this time meager. If these rules are not observed and there is no winter "pause" of flowering this year, you can not wait.

After the plant produces a flower spike, it must be taken to a cooler room (+ 18-20 degrees) - otherwise the flower arrow will be in the same pore for a long time, practically not developing. If, however, its growth still slows down, several times it is necessary to water the Cleavage with warm water. Blossom beautiful beauty - a flower, a care for which anyone can, usually in February. Flowers of different types and varieties of Cleavia can have a color from white and tender yellow to red or orange.

The most popular plant species cultivated in the room conditions are the cleavage of Gardena, the cleavage is beautiful, the clypeia is cinnabar (it is also antimony-red or suricum). They multiply "children": when separating they need to act very carefully, so as not to damage the roots. Clevia responds well to fertilizing with organic and mineral fertilizers - in the summer, it needs to be fed every two weeks.

In general, this plant is rather unpretentious and care for it is simple: it is important only to observe a period of rest and not allow rotting roots. By the degree of undemanding to the surrounding conditions, the clivus can be compared only with sansevieria, called the "pike tail" in the people: a flower, the care of which practically reduces only to moderate watering, will always be in demand, because not everyone has enough time for breeding capricious Plants.
