Bear disease or emergency syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome, better known in the people as a "bear disease", is called a disorder of the intestine, which develops as a result of a malfunction in the work of the psychosocial mechanism of action, impaired motor activity of the intestine and its visceral sensitivity. To characterize this disease requires a special strategy for diagnosis. By its name "bear illness" this disease is due to bears, who, with a strong fright, for example during hunting, have a sudden disruption of bowel functions.

The study of this disease began in the XIX century. In 1849, W. Gumming described the clinical picture of a patient with these symptoms, later in 1892, W. Osler designated this clinical condition as mucosal colitis. In most countries, "bear illness" is a very common disease, with about 60% of people who experience the symptoms of the disease, do not seek medical help. The youngest people of working age are most likely to suffer from a bearish illness - from 25 to 40 years.

Medically speaking, the bearish disease is a set of stable functional disorders that last at least 10-12 weeks during a calendar year, and have the following symptoms: pain and discomfort in the abdomen, disappearing after the act of defecation, a change in the consistency and frequency of the stool, and the secretion of mucus Together with feces and flatulence.

Depending on which particular symptom of the disease is leading, there are three variants of the bearish disease:

- with flatulence and the prevailing pain in the abdomen;

- with predominant constipation;

With predominant diarrhea.

However, practice shows that this division is very conditional, since 50% of patients observe a combination of various symptoms of the disease and their transformation. The definition of a variant of the disease from a practical point of view is of great importance, since the treatment of bear illness depends on it.

Most often, bear illness manifests itself in a period of nervous experiences or severe stress. The emergence of this reaction leads to a strong, sudden stimulation by external factors of the nervous system and the cerebral cortex, after which it activates and begins to intensify a variety of functions in the body: respiratory, motor, glands internal and external secretion.

Bear disease: treatment.

The main condition for successful therapy is the establishment of a trusting relationship with the patient, who needs to explain the nature of the disease and must warn him that the manifestations of the syndrome can persist for several months and even years without progression, and with competent treatment the symptoms will be weakened.
The role of dietary nutrition in the treatment of bear illness is not proven, however, the nature of the chair is very significant. It is necessary to limit the intake of gas-forming and fatty foods, caffeine, alcohol, caffeine and fiber.

In the presence of constipation, the amount of dietary fiber should be increased , i. E. Cereals, beets, carrots, pumpkins, fruits and oatmeal. For pain and bloating, vegetables should be eaten in a baked, boiled or stewed form. With diarrhea you need to exclude milk, raw fruits and vegetables.

Medicamentous treatment of bear illness is mainly aimed at the symptoms that cause patients to seek medical care or cause the greatest discomfort. In this regard, the treatment is symptomatic with the use of many pharmaceuticals, such as antispasmodic and antidiarrheal drugs, antidepressants, benzodiazepines, serotonin receptor blockers, guanylate cyclase activators and antibiotics. Alternative therapy for this disease consists in taking phytotherapeutic drugs and probiotics.
