Tablet IdeaTab Lenovo A3000 1: overview, specifications and reviews

A fresh and more nimble tablet Lenovo IdeaTab A3000-H was a replacement for the not quite successful model of the previous generation A1000. The gadget looks very attractive due to its characteristics and, of course, to the price segment.

So, the hero of today's review is the Lenovo IdeaTab A3000 tablet. Features, design, management, advantages and disadvantages of the device will be discussed in detail in the article. In the calculation will be taken the opinions of specialists along with reviews of ordinary gadget owners.

Design

Its appearance looks very much like the predecessor A1000, but the new model is slightly different from the old series, and for the better.

The design of the device has nice outlines, but does not pretend to be uniqueness or at least some difference from similar tablets of other brands. The back panel has a rough texture, so the gadget should not slip out of the hands.

The cover of the IdeaTab Lenovo A3000 is removable, and below it we will see a micro-SD memory card slot, two SIM cards and a battery. At first glance, it seems like everything is fine, but only the battery is secured with secret bolts and sealed with a warranty seal. This move caused a storm of emotions in the feedback of tablet owners, who immediately got used to changing small-capacity batteries to more powerful ones. And in our case, it's impossible to do anything without loss of guarantee.

With regard to the dimensions of IdeaTab Lenovo A3000, they are standardized for a 7-inch form factor - 194x120x11 mm with a weight of 340 grams.

The configuration of the tablet is extremely scarce even for this segment. All that we see in the box is the device itself, a charger (very handy) and a short instruction manual. There are no covers, headsets, adapters and other things here, alas, no. The warranty period of service also has the usual dating - 12 months.

Interfaces

Lenovo IdeaTab A3000 tablet has 16 GB of internal memory on its board, from which the user is given about 13 GB, the rest is reserved for system files and other gadget needs. Fortunately, you can expand the volume with the help of the "omnivorous" micro-SD port, so there should not be any problems with the free space.

To synchronize with the computer and charge the battery, a standard micro-USB 2.0 port is used (3.0 can be found only in the business segment of the devices). But the gadget has a unique feature for this type of device - the presence of two built-in cellular network adapters, and both easily support the UMTS standard.

Nevertheless, access to the Internet is carried out with only one SIM card specified by the user, while the other will receive calls and send SMS. Home craftsmen could overcome this barrier by writing a special software for Lenovo IdeaTab A3000-H (firmware A3000 / A421 / kupyxa4444 / & / STUDENT3500 / v1.4 / final), but you can install it, of course, only at your own peril.

Wireless protocols

The gadget feels great in wi-fi networks on 802.11 b / g / n protocols. The only thing that is worth noting is the ignoring of 3G networks while working with WiFi. Also, it would be superfluous to mention the radius of the action: the quality of reception-transmission noticeably drops if you retire more than 10 meters from the router. Feedback from users is full of indignation about this: it seems that the connection is good, but it's worth moving into the next room, as the signal deteriorates noticeably. For data transmission over short distances, you can use the fourth-generation wireless bluetooth.

Also, Lenovo IdeaTab A3000-H has GPS-protocols, and navigation is surprisingly fast. The accuracy of the readings ranged within quite reasonable limits even under adverse conditions (rain and block room).

Control

The regular buttons for turning on and controlling the volume of the device work as it should and are pressed without any additional effort. In addition to the standard micro-USB port, you can see the usual audio connector for using a headset or headphones (3.5 mm) alone. The sound quality at the output is quite acceptable and there are no serious complaints.

IdeaTab Lenovo A3000 is equipped with a good touch screen, which copes well with the basic tasks, but slightly "tupit" with enhanced functionality. As such, there are no problems with sensitivity - the response is almost instantaneous, but the gyroscope could function faster: the horizontal and vertical orientation has too much delay (2-3 seconds), and there are no settings for this parameter.

Standard multi-touch gestures IdeaTab Lenovo A3000 understands well and supports up to five simultaneous touches. Some owners in their reviews complain about obsolete gestures, setting an example of "Samsung" and "Asusa", but "Lenovo" does not want to move to an expanded multitouch-management.

Camera

The device is equipped with a front camera at 0.3 Mp just above the display, and also a rear camera at 5 Mp. You can take pictures from both eyes, and they differ from each other almost in quality - only in resolution.

Immediately it is worth noting that the camera - this is not the strongest side of the device. Even with perfect lighting, the overwhelming majority of the photos are blurred and lighted by some kind of white haze (distorted exposure), and in general all the images come out with defects. To get at least one more or less normal frame, you need to make at least three or four pictures. The responses of the owners are naturally filled with phrases of indignation about this, but still you need to understand that you have a tablet in your hand, and it's a budget, not a camera.

Display

Uncommon in the mobile gadget market, you can see devices with quality screens that support IPS-technologies. The vast majority of manufacturers in the budget segment use matrices of the TN type, which significantly cuts the cost of the device.

Lenovo IdeaTab A3000 (the price of 6-7 thousand rubles) just refers to those devices, on which the greed of the company has not affected. The tablet received a fairly good IPS-matrix.

Nevertheless, the developer made a gross blunder even where it should not have been. For a seven-inch diagonal, the resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels is extremely small. Even the five-inch smartphones of the budget segment, even if they are in the minority, have a development in 1920 at 1080 points, which means that they have access to all the amenities of FullHD-technologies. In their responses, the owners repeatedly mentioned this gross defect of "Lenovo" setting an example of a similar gadget "Nexus 7".

The backlighting of the screen has a very good performance of 362.2 Cd / m 2 . The contrast level can be compared with the result of most analogues - 812 to 1. All information on the display is easy to read, and not only indoors, but in intense sunlight. Viewing angles are also pleasing, which means that you can browse through photos or watch movies with friends.

Performance

For the speed of the gadget meets the quad-core processor "Mediatek" series MT8389, working on a 28-nanometer process technology. Each core has a clock speed of 1.2 GHz, which is quite good. For the graphic component meets the video chip PowerVR, - add here 1 GB of RAM and get a typical tablet for its segment.

Lenovo IdeaTab A3000 (factory firmware) on bench checks showed quite acceptable performance results, and for all benchmarks adhered to the average values for this kind of devices. The only thing that largely provokes a failure in performance is the flash card of the device, which works clearly slower than all competitors in this price segment.

In general, with the performance of the model everything is fine. Overtakes the gadget for some characteristics only "Nexus 7", which costs exactly the same as the A3000.

Sound

The device is equipped with a very good speaker system, and the sound is quite acceptable in terms of quality. Low frequencies, of course, almost not audible, but here the high and medium sound more or less naturally.

What pleased the model, so it's loudness. Even if you set the sound level at half of the maximum, the speaker system will easily muffle the 100% loudness of the other similar devices. True, it's not worth it, because at 80% or higher the sound starts to turn into a cacophony. But this volume level is clearly redundant, even if you use a tablet on the street.

Autonomous work

Without a special load (viewing photos, reading books) the gadget will work for about 10 hours. If you use wireless protocols and go online, the battery will last for about 7 hours. The maximum power consumption (video, web surfing, games) will put the battery in 3-4 hours.

The indicator of the battery life of the device is, in principle, satisfactory and comparable with similar gadgets of this price segment - nothing supernatural and outstanding, but you can work peacefully, as they say, without a lace.

Summarizing

Still, 6-7 thousand rubles for a tablet with such characteristics is a bit too much. Of course, the gadget has many pluses and little minuses, but if you look at more attractive offers in terms of price, you can see almost identical Oysters T7D 3G, which costs a third less.

Even if you choose specifically from this price category, then the same "Nexus" 7 looks much more attractive with its screen at high resolution and excellent performance of battery life.

If the model was worth at least one thousand cheaper, then such shortcomings as the lack of FullHD and extremely poor completeness, one could forgive, but at the moment the device has too unbalanced value for money.
