Bacterial vasinosis: etiology, manifestation and treatment

Bacterial vasinosis is the most common disease of the reproductive system in women. In medical circles it is also called "gardnerellez". However, no matter how this pathology was called, its essence does not change. The main cause of the disease is vaginal dysbiosis.

Bacterial vasinosis: causes

The vaginal microflora is unstable. It includes a huge amount of both saprophytic and pathogenic microorganisms. Only with a physiologically healthy condition, the main part of the vaginal microflora is represented by lactobacilli. It is known that these microorganisms perform a protective role. Lactobacilli are able to process glycogen contained in the vaginal epitheliocytes into lactic acid. The latter suppresses the reproduction of opportunistic microbes. Reducing the number of lactobacilli in the vagina promotes their reproduction. It can be, for example, Gardnerella vaginalis, which provoke the development of gardnerellez.

Etiology of the development of the disease

The development of vaginal dysbiosis provokes several factors:

- use of contraceptive creams, which include 9-nonoxynol;

- antibiotic therapy;

- use of an intrauterine device;

- syringing;

- change of sexual partner;

- decrease immunorezistentnosti organism;

- use of condoms that are treated with 9-nonoxinol;

- abortion;

- prolonged use of tampons.

Bacterial vasinosis: signs

Detect gardnerellez can each woman by the presence of one or more symptoms, characteristic for this pathology. For bacterial vaginosis is characterized by a very unpleasant smell of vaginal discharge. In most people, it is associated with foul fish. After sexual intercourse, without a condom, the smell is usually worse. In addition, patients complain of itching in the groin and redness of the vaginal mucosa. It should be noted that bacterial vasinosis often occurs without visible clinical symptoms.

Diagnosis of the disease

Preliminary diagnosis can be made by specialists already during the gynecological examination. To confirm it, the microscopy of the vagina separating from the posterior arch is carried out. So, the diagnosis of bacterial vasinosis can be diagnosed with the following symptoms:

- characteristic smell of vaginal discharge;

- pH more than 4,5 (physiological norm 3,8-4,5);

- positive aminotest;

- identification of "key cells" (they refer to mature epithelial cells on the surface of which microorganisms are adsorbed).

Treatment

Many experts argue that the best therapeutic effect is achieved by using local therapeutic measures. A good result is obtained with the prescription of drugs from the group of nitroimidazoles (medicines "Teonitrosol", "Metrogil", "Tinidazole", "Metronidazole", "Ornidazole", "Trichopolum", "Secnidazole", etc.). The listed medicines are prescribed intravaginally in the form of tampons, tablets or suppositories. Recently, the combined preparations Ginalgin, Terzhinan, and Polizhinaks are often used in the treatment of vaginitis .
