"Amlodipine": instructions for use. Struggling with angina

Angina pectoris is a disease that most often affects people of advanced age. The main symptoms are pain in the heart area caused by insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle.

Modern medicine has made a significant step towards the treatment of "angina pectoris". One of the ways to combat the disease is the drug Amlodipine. Instruction for use says that it helps to relax the smooth muscles of the heart, increase the flow of oxygen to the myocardium and reduce blood pressure. The basis of the drug is the blocking of calcium channels of Class II, which contributes to the reduction of peripheral resistance of blood vessels.

The main active ingredient of Amlodipine is the amlodipine besylate. As auxiliary substances, the tablet contains potato starch, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium stearate and magnesium stearate.

Amlodipine - a white tablets of flat-cylindrical shape with a bevelled edge. Produced in quantities of 10, 20 and 30 pieces in a package with a mass fraction of amlodipine besylate 5 mg and 10 mg.

In addition to the already mentioned angina pectoris (both stable and unstable), the drug Amlodipine is indicated for use in patients with diagnoses:

  • arterial hypertension;
  • Angina of Prinzmetal;
  • cardiac ischemia;
  • Increased resistance to treatment with nitrates or beta-blockers.

Before starting the use of amlodipine tablets, the instructions for use should be carefully examined, as there are sufficient restrictions to avoid using the drug categorically:

  • The presence of allergic reactions to hydroperidine derivatives;
  • Pregnancy and lactation (excluding cases where the expected benefit of treatment for the mother is higher than the possible harm to the fetus);
  • Low blood pressure;
  • Acute myocardial infarction;
  • State of shock.

With caution, the drug should be taken in the following cases:

  • heart failure;
  • Unstable angina;
  • Violations of the liver;
  • Severe aortic stenosis;
  • childhood.

The drug should be taken 1 time per day in a volume of 5 mg. On the recommendation of the attending physician, the dose should be increased to 10 mg maximum.

It should also be taken into account that Vero Amlodipine (instruction on the use of the drug in accordance with the instructions for Amlodipine) when used with calcium channel blockers can cause a drop in blood pressure to below normal levels. The same effect is obtained with simultaneous use of the drug with funds for inhalation anesthesia. Simultaneous use of lithium carbonate and Amlodipine is not recommended for use either. There is a high risk of neurotoxic reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus and tremor in the extremities. Indomethacin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs reduce the hypotensive effect of amlodipine.

The course of application of the drug must be accompanied by a doctor's observation, since The list of possible side effects is very wide:

  • Peripheral edema, heart palpitations. At excess of a dose - an arrhythmia, a dyspnea or short wind, an arterial hypotension ;
  • Nausea, pain in the abdomen, there is a high probability of pancreatitis, jaundice;
  • Dizziness, fatigue, increased drowsiness, headache;
  • Allergic reactions in the form of rashes and itching;
  • Frequent mood swings ;
  • Swelling of the ankles;
  • Visual impairment.

Keep the amlodipine instruction for use advised in a dry place at a temperature not higher than 25 ^, out of the reach of children.

It should be noted that the information given is for informational purposes only. Treatment should be agreed with the attending physician.
