Advantages and disadvantages of the antihemorrhoidal drug "Neo Anuzol"

In the treatment of hemorrhoids, anal fissures and other diseases of the rectum, one of the main methods is a local effect with ointments, sedentary baths, and rectal suppositories. Antihemorrhoidal medicine "Neo Anuzol" is released in the form of candles and is an anti-inflammatory, astringent, anesthetic and antispasmodic. It is prescribed in cases where patients already feel discomfort in the rectum and anal area in the form of itching, bleeding or pain during defecation.

The instruction attached to Neo Anuzol does not provide data on pharmacokinetics, that is, it does not contain data on how the preparation passes through the tissues and in what quantities it accumulates in the body and is removed from it. Exposure to the body during pregnancy and lactation is also not known. Therefore, this drug should be used with caution in this period, having previously visited the doctor and, together with it, weighed the benefit and risk of the drug.

The interaction of the Neo Anuzol with other drugs and its overdose is also not known. Out of side effects, the instructions mention only allergic reactions. It is not recommended to take this pharmaceutical product only with increased sensitivity to the constituent components.

This preparation contains zinc oxide, bismuth nitrate basic, iodine, resorcinol, tannin, methylene blue, and also a fatty base. Bismuth nitrate is the main one, besides the astringent, it also has an anti-inflammatory effect. When using the drug " Neo Anuzol" (candles), which includes this substance, the affected tissues are anesthetized, thereby accelerating the healing process and relieving the sensations of discomfort in the rectal area.

Resorcinol destroys the vegetative forms of microorganisms and coagulates proteins. It also has an antiseptic effect. The use of the drug "Neo Anusolum" is undesirable if there are extensive lesions of the mucous membranes. When using the drug with resorcinol, side effects such as dizziness, weakness, and respiratory distress can occur. And methylene blue can cause pain in the bladder and kidneys.

The astringent action of the "Neo Anuzol" agent is also achieved with the help of zinc oxide. This substance when exposed to damaged tissue reduces irritation, inflammation and exudation, and also protects tissues from the action of many irritating factors. As side effects, mainly itching and burning. However, it is not recommended to use similar preparations containing zinc oxide, in the presence of purulent-inflammatory process. After using candles, you should thoroughly wash your hands - getting zinc oxide on the surface of open wounds in the eyes is unacceptable.

However, another substance that is part of the drug "Neo Anuzol" - tannin - can negate the benefit of this remedy. Preparations containing tannin are prescribed for the treatment of inflammatory processes not only in the rectum, but also in the nasal and laryngeal cavities, as well as on the skin (ulcers, burns, pressure sores, cracks). When using drugs with tannin content for rectal fissures, there is a possibility of blood clots. Although nothing is known about the interaction of Neo Anuzol with alkaloids (for example, atropine, morphine, nicotine), tannin forms unstable compounds with them. Therefore, people who abuse harmful habits should take this into account when using this drug and apply it with caution. After all, there is no data on excretion of the drug, but it is necessary that the tannin be removed from the body completely.

In any case, for an effective treatment and minimizing the likelihood of side effects, a prior consultation with a specialist is necessary.
