Adam's apple in men and women

Adam's apple or Adam's apple is an anatomical part of the larynx of any person, but a strong protrusion is more often observed in the strong half of mankind. It is formed due to the sexual maturity of men, and biologists classify it as a secondary sexual sign. Adam's apple is of various sizes: in some it is very large and immediately catches the eye, in others less noticeable. Even for women, the Adam's apple can be slightly protruding. In some cases, the Adam's apple grows to a large size, which is why many find it esthetically unattractive. Many even go for surgery to reduce the size of the Adam's apple. Such a surgical intervention is called "chondrolaryngoplasty."

There are no historical facts about this. However, there are two possible reasons for the appearance of the name of thyroid cartilage in men.

Based on the view that the Adam's apple apple looks like a piece of solid food stuck in his throat, some believe that he appeared in the strong half of humanity because of Adam, who tasted the forbidden fruit (apple) from the tree of wisdom. The apple was stuck in his throat, where a lump formed. Hence the expression "Adam's apple".

In the second assumption, it is said that the word "Adam's apple" is the translation from the Turkic languages of the words "hard, hard". For example, in the Uzbek language the word sounds like "Qattiq".

The growth of this anatomical education is associated with changes in voice. So, the adult man has a deeper voice and a bass player, and at times even very rude. At the time when the Adam's apple begins to develop, there are often changes in their voice. This is because the vocal cords also acquire new dimensions.
