A safety belt for a child or, after all, a car seat?

More and more attention today has been given to safety on the road. Including children's. And this concerns not only the training of traffic rules, but also the presence of children in the car.

A child safety belt is an alternative to a car seat. This option is considered by many motorists. But in order to understand, whether it is necessary to stop on its purchase, it is necessary to disassemble all the pros and cons of this device.

The first plus, with which everyone agrees, is compact. Unlike the chair, it does not take up space, which is a significant advantage for many. The car seat is a cumbersome design. If you install it in the back seat in a mid-size car, only one passenger seat will remain accessible. The seat belt for the child with the solution of this (important for the majority of the population) problem copes quite successfully.

The second inconvenience of a special chair is the lack of mobility. Actually for those who travel by car with a child rarely, because it is necessary to ask the question: "And where should I put it?", Especially if it is necessary to carry a large number of people, and the chair hinders and takes up a lot of space.

The seat belt for the child and in this situation comes to the rescue. Moreover, even teenagers can use it, for which the car seat is no longer provided, and adult belts are not yet suitable for growth. Having bought a similar device once, you will forget about this problem for a long time. And if the family has several children of different ages, and they are not in the car at the same time, then the versatility of such a belt is simply invaluable.

The third plus is the price. It's no secret that car seats are expensive. The child quickly grows from one weight class to another, which results in an immediate replacement of the chair. The seat belt for the child costs much less, corresponds to the state standard (naturally, if it is a question of FAST), it can be used in the front seat. In comparison with his fellow-straps, he has a higher protection of the neck and head, since it reliably fixes them.

The determining criterion in choosing a safety device is, of course, the protection of the child. In this aspect the car seat has advantages - it reliably fixes the body of the baby, its spine, creates lateral protection.

What to choose - an expensive armchair or safety belts for children, the price of which is low - for parents to decide. But, I think, when addressing this issue, one must be guided by the age of the child, by his financial capabilities. Most likely, for a child of school age, it will be more convenient to use a belt, but a preschool child, especially a baby, is more expedient to place in a chair. In addition, when buying, it is worth paying attention to where the device is made - if it's an unfamiliar company that is not clear, then it is unlikely that such a chair will be better in terms of safety parameters than a belt.

Still there is such a thing as a latch for the seat belt for children. It is a special patch that changes the angle of the conventional belt so that it is on the chest of the child, and does not press against the neck. But this device has a number of questions from law enforcement officials, so its use is in doubt.
