In the world there are more than 40 thousand species of spiders. They are distributed practically in all corners of our planet. The green spider is a generalized unofficial name for spiders with a characteristic color. What are they like? We will learn more about this.

Green spider: photos, varieties

Contrary to popular belief, the "eight-legged" are not insects. They are considered distant relatives of crabs and are united in a separate class of arachnids. They are widespread everywhere, even in water. Spiders do not live only in territories that are covered with ice all year round.

They have very different colors, depending on the environment. This helps to mask when hunting. In their arsenal there are yellow, white, brown, black and other colors. The green spider is a typical inhabitant of grass and thickets. It perfectly merges with the background and becomes invisible to prey and enemies.

Green has the largest subspecies of spiders-horses. They hunt in the afternoon, and move by jumping. You can meet horses in the tropics of New Guinea and in Western Australia. A similar color is possessed by one of the species of wolf spiders, an Australian garden-circle, and also some crab spiders. The latter move sideways, because of what they are called "sidewalks."

The micromate is greenish

This green spider in Russia is common, especially in Siberia and the Far East. Its range covers the entire Palaearctic (biogeographical region, which includes Europe, Asia, North Africa). Their poison is too weak, therefore for the person they do not represent danger.

The micromat is similar to wolf spiders. She does not build hawking networks from cobwebs, but prefers live hunting. She waits for the future food, hiding behind a blade of grass or a branch. Then overtakes a sharp jump. Similarly, the green spider behaves when mating, jumping on the female and immobilizing it with the grip of the jaw.

Above, their color is bright green, and the belly is light green. The females have a small dark patch in the form of a rhombus. The males are notable for the red and yellow stripes on the body. The size of spiders is from 1 to 1.5 centimeters. Eyes are surrounded by white hairs. Adult micromatons are found in summer and early autumn.

Spider-trot

Another green spider is a lynx. Most of the members of this family have a less evocative color, are painted in gray or brown. They prefer tropical regions, although they live almost everywhere.

Green family members have a bright color. Their paws are covered with many small setae and end with three claws. The body slightly narrows in the back, covered with red stripes in two rows. There may be black dots on the legs.

Spiders do not build cobwebs, hunt down the victim, hiding on honeybirds or in the grass. They quickly and dexterously move by means of long jumps, for which they received their name. Their feature is the shooting of the poison, which they squirt during the danger.

Representatives of this species live no more than a year. They feed on insects, but they can hunt birds. For a person, the bite of a spider-trot is not fatal, it is equivalent in strength to a bee.
