Wooden and concrete floor in the bath

Bath is heat and moisture. And these factors positively affect human health. But, at the same time, they are less "supportive" for finishing the room. And most of all these unpleasant effects suffer from sex in the bath. Therefore, it is arranged so as to minimize these effects. That is, it should be strong, dry quickly, and its design should be such that the floor does not form puddles. And today there are several ways to arrange a bath floor.

And the most popular, you can even say classic, is the wooden floor in the bath. After all, wood is a natural material, it is pleasant to the touch, beautiful and tidy, it is easy to process. But at the same time, the tree has weaknesses. It is combustible, prone to decay and the effects of wood bugs. As a result, the service life of the wooden floor is about 10 years with proper care of it. This, of course, is not enough by modern standards. But, nevertheless, wooden floors are now installed in many baths.

And you can arrange such a floor in a bath in one of two ways. And the first way is the leaking floor. It is arranged in the form of a through grating, that is, between the planks of the flooring, they leave gaps of 3 to 5 millimeters wide. Water quickly finds loopholes in such a floor and goes underground. There it absorbs into the ground. And to make this happen more quickly, a sand-gravel "pillow" becomes in the underground. Leaking floor is the simplest and cheapest way of arranging the flooring in the bath. But it is suitable only for the warmth of the year. And in the cold time through the grill will "pull" the serious cold.

But you can make a tree and a warmer floor in the bath. And this is a non-flowing floor. Here, the boards are tightly fitted with each other, and the water outlet is arranged due to the slope of the floor covering. This gradient is 5-10 degrees and it is directed towards the sump pipe, in which the liquid accumulates and is discharged out through the drainage channel. A warm this floor with a layer of insulation (mineral wool or expanded clay), which "hides" under the boards of flooring. Even to protect this heater from moisture arrange a layer of hydro and vapor barrier. It can be ruberoid (for expanded clay) or a standard insulation film (for a cotton wool).

And that the floor in the bath made of wood served as long as possible, it must be treated with special stain. There are many such stains now. But the impregnation for the floor in the bath must meet certain requirements. It should be made of natural ingredients that are harmless to humans and do not emit toxic substances. For example, there is a stain called Aqualac. And if the tree is treated with it, it will not darken, absorb moisture, and it will become "unattractive" for wood bugs and other parasites. In addition, this stain can withstand a high enough temperature of 150 degrees. In addition to "Akvalak" there are other similar means.

It is also possible to equip and concrete floor in the bath. This coating is suitable for rooms with high humidity, that is, for the steam room and washing. And in order not to walk on concrete, wooden gratings are laid on it. In addition, such gratings can easily be taken out of the room to remove or treat the tree of grids with antiseptics. Well, in the dressing room and in the rest room it is desirable to make a floor of wood.

And for cold regions, the concrete floor needs to be insulated. It is not difficult to do this: you can simply add expanded clay in concrete. There is another way to insulate the concrete floor. Here, a layer of insulation is laid between two layers of concrete. It can be mineral wool or felt impregnated with bitumen. And the place of the joint between the wall and the floor is also filled with bitumen. This provides additional floor waterproofing.
