Who is Captain Britain?

Captain Britain (photo below) is the superhero of the universe Marvel, whose real name is Brian Braddock. Was chosen by Merlin. Is the defender of Maltivers and Britain. For some time he worked with MI-13.

Becoming a hero

Captain Britain was born and grew up in the English city of Malden. He has a twin sister, Betsy and Jamie's brother. After the death of his parents, he left the family, entering the University of the Thames. In parallel with his studies, the young man worked in the Department of Nuclear Technologies. When the River attacked his laboratory, Brian hurried for help on his motorcycle, but got into an accident, getting a fatal wound. Waking up, Braddock saw Merlin and his daughter Roma. They offered him the salvation of life through the choice of the Sword of Power and the Amulet of Truth. The young man chose the latter, because he did not consider himself a warrior. After that, he turned into Captain Britain and was able to defeat Rivera.

Fighting crime

The first time Braddock combined heroism with work in the laboratory. He prevented a number of bank robberies, becoming a "superhero of Britain." It attracted a villain named Hurricane. Brian defeated him not immediately because of police inaction. Captain Britain and other superheroes were hated by representatives of the law.

For a while Braddock studied in America. There he lived in a hostel with Peter Parker. But the young people did not know about each other's abilities. When Brian flew home, he was physically affected and jumped out of the plane. After that, Braddock disappeared. Returned the Captain Britain himself Marilyn. It turned out that Bryan lacks some memory. Therefore, the wizard told him how to defeat the Necromon - a car that ruined all superheroes in the alternative reality. The help of the Captain of Britain was the elf Jakdow and the Black Knight. All together, they saved the Other World. After this victory, Brian was killed by the White Rider, but Merlin resurrected him, recovering all the lost memories.

A new battle

By connecting the Scepter with the Amulet, the wizard created a new uniform for Braddock. She helped in flight and surrounded the captain with a powerful force field. Soon, Bryan went to an alternative reality on Earth-238 to defeat Jim Jaspers, who eliminated all superheroes there.

However, Braddock was stopped by the Fury, which turned out to be stronger. Marilyn teleported the captain's body to Earth-616 and resurrected it again. Meanwhile, Jaspers became prime minister and began to change London. Brian again could not stop him. The Rage, who came to Earth-616 to help the captain, helped. Jaspers fell into his arm and was killed. The captain of Britain had no difficulty in vanquishing Rage, which was weakened by the battle.

After these events, Braddock met metamorph Meghgan from an alternative reality and fell in love with her. They began to fight evil together, but soon Brian wanted to end his superhero career and create a family with the girl.

Back in line

After Captain Britain left, RCX asked to take this post to his sister Betsey. It has become a worthy substitute due to persistent training, abilities for telepathy and impenetrable armor, allowing to fly. Betsy many times fought with the enemies of Braddock and nearly died at the hands of Slaimaster. Only his brother's help saved her. After this incident, Captain Britain returned, but stopped working with the government because of distrust. Then he learned about the death of Betsy at the hands of the X-Men and drank heavily. After the wedding with Megan, Brian finally left the team.

Abilities

Captain Britain, whose biography was presented in this article, increased his abilities gradually. At first, he used artifacts for these purposes. They gave Brian agility (Amulet of Truth), endurance, strength, increased feelings (uniform), the ability to fly (the Scepter of the Star) and the creation of force fields. After the defeat in the war with the Skrulls, Braddock was reborn with magic and could no longer use artifacts. Now the ability of the captain depended solely on his determination and willpower.
