What music should I listen to?

The fact that music has the ability to influence a person has been known for a long time. Approximately two thousand years ago there lived a well-known physician, called Asclepius. He treated his patients in a very original way: playing the trumpet or flute, and even created a special theory about how to listen to music so that it would bring more benefit. Patients were to be in a bright, spacious and comfortable room, sitting or lying down, relaxed, and at this time do not hear any other sounds.

I belong to the category of those people who rarely appear on the street, and even more so in public transport, without headphones. I guess I listen to something almost constantly. It can be a classic work, a fatal composition, an audiobook or a radio play. That's why the question of what kind of music to listen to, is not at all a rarity. Friends, acquaintances and colleagues often turn to me for advice. I want to share my thoughts on this matter in this article.

1. What kind of music should I listen to? Is there a universal advice?

Honestly, it seems to me that the answer simply does not exist. Why? Because, firstly, we are all originally different from nature, someone is more energetic, and someone is inclined to thinking and melancholy. Secondly, when choosing music in your player or launching a file on your computer, we can pursue your personal goals. Someone wants to relax and have a rest, but somebody should tone up music, fill with strength and energy.

Of course, all these works will be very, very different: in terms of genre, rhythm, and content.

Perhaps, musical preferences depend on the status or public role of the listener? Will we check?

Take any known youth movement. Have you ever wondered what kind of music emo is listening to, for example? Favorite musical representations of this subculture represent quite an amazing mix of different genres, styles and directions: punk music, jazz, indie rock, techno and pop punk. Those. If you understand, then there is no definite and strict criterion, although one main feature is traced - emotionality.

It turns out that music has nothing to do with our position in society, and there are no compositions that were originally written, say, for pregnant women, elderly people, students or schoolchildren.

2. What kind of music to listen to in our country? Are there priorities?

Recently in one of the social networks I managed to come across an interesting sociological survey. It turns out that the most popular in our country was and continues to be rock, which managed to gain 31% of the vote. Only a little bit from him behind pop, that is. The usual popular music that flooded our TV channels and radio stations. She managed to reach a mark of 24%.

Initially, I was sure that in third place will be placed chanson. But, strangely enough, 15% of respondents voted for classical compositions. Hence, it is far from all so bad if the population continues to stand in line for tickets to a philharmonic or an organ hall, and our children will know that WA Mozart is, first of all, a wonderful and talented composer, and only afterwards untwisted Chocolate brand from Germany.

After that, the rating should be respected among young people electronic music (11%).

And, finally, the top five leaders are chanson and hip-hop, who scored the same number of votes - 8% each.

The remaining 3% were divided among themselves by fans of jazz, blues, reggae, Russian folklore and country.

3. What music should I listen to? The point of view of psychologists

First of all, according to experts, the influence of music on a particular person depends on one factor, namely, on the individual susceptibility of the central nervous system.

In the course of numerous studies, it has been established that pleasant and favorite music can have a beneficial effect on the human circulatory system.

The scientists conducted a kind of experiment. In one of the famous clinics invited 10 people of different ages, sex and social status. Each of them was offered to listen to music, while the doctors conducted all the necessary studies. As a result, 26% of subjects showed improvement in their general condition if they liked music, and 6%, if not.

Psychologists insist that the most useful for our body is classical music, in second place is the folk. It's strange that pop does not have any influence at all, but an excessive hobby for rock can provoke a mental illness.
