What is the throttle sensor and how to adjust it?

The throttle valve is a complex constructive device for the intake system of injector and carburetor engines. The main purpose of this device is the adjustment of the air supply to the engine for the purpose of optimal dosing of the air-fuel mixture. In general, this feature resembles a certain valve, when it is closed, the pressure level drops to the vacuum state, and when it opens, then the pressure corresponds to the level of the intake system.

Any detail of this kind is completed with a special element, and it is called the throttle sensor. This, at first glance, a small spare part plays a serious role in the engine control system. It is from his testimony that the damper doses the right amount of air for the complete combustion of gasoline in the chamber. And if the sensor (DPDZ) comes to malfunction, a red lamp on the panel board of the car will light up, which will alert the driver of possible malfunctions. In addition, with the breakdown of this part, you can notice a lot of other factors, namely:

  1. Difficulty ignition.
  2. Increased fuel consumption
  3. Large idling speed.
  4. At acceleration the car starts to brake sharply.

And all of them also talk about the fact that the throttle sensor needs repair. But in order to be true in their assumptions (since these factors can signal other failures), you must first check the technical state of the part itself. Before doing this, make sure that the throttle sensor is closed. After that, turn off the ignition and disconnect the connector of this part (do not press the accelerator pedal). Next, check the conductivity of the two sensor terminals. If it does not exist, this indicates that this part needs adjustment.

And to begin this process is necessary with the removal of the corrugated tube, which conducts air to the intake manifold. Fortunately, the throttle valve sensor VAZ 2110 has a similar design with all other VAZ models, and therefore this adjustment instruction will be generalized.

So, for adjustment, we need to release the damper screw. To do this, you must open it completely and release it sharply. If done correctly, you will hear a small click of the blow. After that, we regulate the spare part and "click" until our valve stops snacking. When this happens, you need to tighten the bolt and nut again. Everything, the damper is adjusted.

For the sensor, you need to do the following: loosen its screws and then apply the multimeter. With the help of it you should put one probe to the contacts of idling, and the second - between the stop screw and the damper itself. After this, rotate the body of the part until the voltage changes with the opening of the valve. As you can see, adjusting the sensor and the damper is not so difficult as it seems at first glance.

By following these instructions, you can easily apply this knowledge to practice in any road conditions.
