- Cholesterol is necessary for the proper synthesis of vitamin D. It, in turn, takes part in the correct assimilation of calcium. Consequently, low cholesterol can provoke brittle bones, which often leads to frequent fractures.
- This sterol is a raw material for some groups of hormones. To them are listed first of all sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen). Undoubtedly, a lowered level of cholesterol in the blood inevitably leads to inadequate production and as a result of the malfunction of the whole organism.
