Their principle of operation is based on the progressive-recurrent type of movement of the cutting surface. They are much more complicated than rotary ones. They have many advantages. Thus, thanks to the lateral movement of the knives of the device, these practically do not crush the grass, which often happens when the above-described first type of mowers is operating.

In addition, the knives are held at a minimum distance from the ground, so that losses in mowed fodder due to high stubble remain in the past.

In any segment-type model, you can adjust the position of the blades +/- 20 degrees from the horizontal, which makes it possible to process even very uneven areas. The complexity of the mechanism has a positive side: such a mower for the "Zarya" motoblock can be urgently detached from it, since it has no direct connection with the drive.
