Water Tanks: Types and Areas of Application

Tanks for water - a container designed for the accumulation, storage and transportation of this life-giving moisture. The main condition that is put forward to such products is safety for the person. Water tanks are made in compliance with standards and norms. Depending on the conditions of use, they can be made of plastic, fiberglass, metal, polypropylene.

Tanks for water for trade, food industry enterprises, private use of citizens can be large and small. Depending on the field of application, they can be divided into industrial and household. Today, storage tanks for water have become very widespread. They can be drinking and technical. For the first type in the production of materials that are resistant to the sun, do not change the properties and taste qualities of the liquid poured into them.

Water containers made of plastic do not smell and are comfortable, but they are not resistant to acids and alkalis. If they are made for domestic use, then the maximum operating temperature of the liquid poured into them is not more than sixty degrees, in addition, they are not designed for operation under pressure. These products can also be used on the backyard as a component of the irrigation system. For these purposes, it is better to choose tanks of dark plastic.

For the food industry, tanks for storing water with walls of equal thickness of monolithic composition are used. For transportation, cubical or rectangular products with walls of laminated material and / or with a double bottom are used. Large capacities of more than 1000 liters are produced from polypropylene by the method of seamless welding. They can be used both in everyday life and in industry. When they are installed on the surface, special support metal structures are used. Their operating temperature ranges from -30 to +90 degrees. They are completely hermetic and safe from the ecological point of view.

For technical purposes, the containers are made of fiberglass. Most often, these products are used for autonomous sewerage, collection and drainage of waste in private homes. In addition, they can serve as a fire-fighting water tank. Such containers have high mechanical strength and chemical stability. As a rule, they are national teams.

Steel tanks have a very wide functional use. In the food industry, horizontal tanks are used, made of high-alloyed material or with special coatings applied to the internal surfaces. For fire protection use tanks for collecting rainwater. There are also special storage tanks for treated sewage at biological treatment stations. They are underground and land. Depending on the conditions of future operation, the containers can be single-walled, of several sheets of metal or with a heating system. To produce them, plasma cutting of material sheets and submerged arc welding are used. The service life of such containers is not less than 10 years and depends on the type and quality of anticorrosion treatment.
