Voronezh Tire Plant: the Italian experience

Voronezh Tire Plant is recognized, in the opinion of the management of the international tire manufacturer Pirelli, the best in the territory of the Russian Federation. Starting in 2012, the management of the plant in Voronezh is entrusted to M. Harputlu.

At the moment, the Voronezh Tire Plant produces summer and winter tires for cars, as well as off-road vehicles. It is noteworthy that the full cycle of production was located on a single area, which allowed the plant management to significantly reduce the costs of the enterprise. Such a far-sighted policy of the brand allowed to reduce the prime cost and selling prices for Pirelli tires.

Bet on frames

The personnel of the plant is represented by a team of professionals, the lion's share of which is equally proficient in both Russian and English. The enterprise regularly hosts master classes and training courses aimed at improving the skill levels and qualifications of employees who produce Pirelli tires.

At the plant, not only the innovative developments of Italian engineers are used, but also techniques tested on racing tracks of the "Formula 1". For example, when creating the next tire model, deeper tread grooves were used, which are responsible for an unprecedented level of moisture removal from under the wheels of the car.

From time to time, open days are held, in which everyone has a unique opportunity to visit the Voronezh Tire Plant. Production of the enterprise today totals dozens of varieties of tires of the trade mark Pirelli. The plant itself is the twenty-second enterprise, which was opened by Pirelli's managers in the world.

Business connections

The main partners of the plant are such eminent automotive companies as Nissan, Ford, Daimler, Volkswagen. On the conveyors of the plant in Voronezh is working about one thousand specialists of various rank. Every year ZAO Voronezhsky Tire Plant produces more than two million automobile tires. There are all the necessary resources to increase the capacity of the enterprise.

The production of tires takes place around the clock and does not stop for a minute. According to the company's technologists, it takes no more than thirty minutes to create a single tire for a passenger car. The production procedure is divided into five large stages. It all starts with the process of mixing rubber. In the course are synthetic materials and natural rubber.

Technology of tire production

If you do not go into technical details, the Pirelli tire is eighty percent made up of artificial rubber. For the strength of the tire, its elasticity and long service life, there are special additives that are added to the rubber mixture. Carbon and sulfur are most commonly used. Since the car tire is similar in design to the layered pie, the work on it starts from the inside.

Deep layer - insulation in the form of an elastic band, which ensures that air and moisture do not enter the tire. Then comes the cord, made of textiles. Behind him is a metal cord. The protective layer in the form of a screen covers the textile and metal cords. The outer part of the tire is a protector, on which at the final stage of production a special recognizable pattern is applied.

After all the components are ready, the build sequence comes. After the assembly, vulcanization follows. Vulcanization is a procedure in which the molecules of the components are joined together, forming a single monolithic surface. After completion of vulcanization, the tires fall under the production press. There they are given the final form, and the protector - the figure. For each of the produced tire diameters a special press is used. The finishing stage is the control of product quality.
