Vladimir Boyko is a man with a capital letter

Biography of Vladimir Semyonovich Boyko is a bright success story. She talks about how a simple guy from the village was able to get to the top of the political arena of Ukraine. About how moral principles overcome greed and arrogance. About how one person is able to change the lives of others for the better.

Vladimir Boyko: biography of the early years

Vladimir Semenovich was born on September 20, 1938 in the village of Sadki, near Mariupol. His childhood is hard to call happy. The Great Patriotic War took the best years of the guy. Actually, even after its termination, life did not return to the usual course for a long time. Hunger, devastation and unemployment for several years hung a dark cloud over Mariupol. However, Vladimir Boyko himself admits that this time only tempered him - made him strong and uncompromising.

At school the boy's successes were very ordinary. In those years, teachers could hardly say that he would achieve a dizzying success in life. The only thing, Vladimir strongly loved books. He read them everywhere: at home, at school and on the street. And the guy often met in fights. But this was not due to the fact that he had a crusty character, but because in his village in another way simply did not work.

The Beginning of Adulthood

Vladimir Boyko grew up quite quickly. At the age of 17, he already arranged to work for the metallurgical plant named after. Ilyich. Then the very young guy is trusted only in the simplest position - the pipeline operator. A year later, he leaves from there, because he finds another vocation.

A new fishing site is the fishing trawl. This choice was due to the fact that from a young age, Vladimir Boyko dreamed of a sailor's career. In memory of this, he even has a tattoo - the steering wheel on his left hand. But eventually he did not manage to make friends with the sea. In addition, in 1957 he was called to serve in the Soviet Army, after which he had to leave his favorite ship.

Vladimir Boiko returned home in the summer of 1960. Soon after that, he again decided to go to work for them. Ilyich. And from that moment begins his long journey to the heights of popular and political glory.

The leader of the metallurgical plant. Ilyich

At the plant, the young specialist was given the position of carver. Work had to in the sheet rolling shop number 6. It would seem that this is an insignificant detail. But the truth is that Vladimir Boyko spent more than 20 years in this shop.

Initially, he was a simple worker. Then in 1970 he graduated from the correspondence department in the metal rolling institute and received the post of senior master. Three years later he was promoted to the post of deputy head of the production department. And so, in 1976, Vladimir Boyko became the head of the sheet rolling shop No. 6.

And then his career only went up. In 1985, he was appointed head of the production department, where he quickly increases the number of products. And in 1987, Boyko Vladimir Semenovich became the official deputy general director for production.

As CEO

The post of general director goes to Vladimir Semyonovich in 1990. This was a momentous moment, as the new head had to pull the whole production from the "stratum". The reason for this was the disintegration of the Soviet Union. All the old contracts and points of sale in one day turned out to be illiquid.

But Vladimir Boyko managed to cope with this task. He found new orders, not only on the territory of Ukraine, but also far beyond its borders. Thanks to this, the plant opened a second wind. As the enterprise evolved, equipment changed, innovative smelting technologies were introduced, and the quality of the products was improved. As a result, the metallurgical plant them. Ilyich became a real giant, sheltering thousands of workers.

Political activity

Politics, Vladimir Boyko was interested only because without it it was impossible to manage the enterprise. After all, a plant with a multimillion-dollar profit often became the subject of raider attacks, which could be repelled, only having great connections and power.

Therefore, in 1994 the entrepreneur became a freelance adviser to Leonid Kuchma. New acquaintances help him get through to the regional council of the Donetsk region. Here he performs the duties of a deputy for 8 years. And only in the parliamentary elections of 2002, Vladimir Boyko passes to the Verkhovna Rada from the party "For United Ukraine".

Later he was re-elected to parliament. First on the list of SPU, and then as a member of the Party of Regions.

Social and political portrait

For the inhabitants of Mariupol Vladimir Boyko became a real hero. During his reign, many enterprises of the city acquired a second life. At the same time, the workers themselves say that their boss did not keep wages even in the most difficult times. Moreover, they were always fascinated by the fact that the director of a large enterprise drives a UAZ minibus, although he could buy himself any other car. To note, the state of Vladimir Boyko in 2007 was about 2.5 billion dollars.

No less impressive is the contribution of politics to the social sphere of the city. Under his leadership was built sports complex "Ilyichevets", a new city stadium and a fountain in the central square. In addition, he constantly cared about the condition of roads, hospitals and government agencies.

Therefore, when on June 10, 2015, Vladimir Boyko died, the whole city froze in silence - it was wrapped in sorrow. After all, the brightest and honorable citizen of Mariupol left them.
