Location of the bay

You can reach these regions by a dirt road from the village of Andreevka. Since the road is often washed away by rain, and the path takes kilometers 10, it is preferable to go on SUVs.

History of the bay

The name of the bay Vityaz received because of the sad incident: there was a shipwreck of a scientific vessel of the same name. During the Second World War, in the fairway of the bay the submarine base was made, for which it was deepened and special berths were built.

Since the 70s, these places have become a scientific center for studying underwater inhabitants, for which even a bathyscaphe was used. Since the late 80's, the Bay of Vityaz (Primorye Territory) has once again become the base for the military, who secretly conducted experiments to teach dolphins to destroy enemy divers.

After the military project was closed, a small settlement, consisting of hundreds of houses and several hundred permanent residents for a long time, gradually began to grow dachas and recreation centers. Today it is a great place for rest and diving.

It is only natural that this region began to attract vacationers and lovers of scuba diving. Clean water, picturesque area and beautiful sandy beaches became an occasion for construction of recreation centers here.

The bay is attractive because on its bottom there are a lot of sunken schooners and moorings and a lot of interesting sea life. It is home to sea anemones, sea stars, trepangs, mussels, scallops, octopuses, stone perches, shrimp and kelp. This is not the whole list of marine riches.

According to those who immersed in these waters, this is really an exciting sight, which requires vigilance, since many of the underwater sights are unsafe. In some places, the depth reaches 45 meters.

One of the favorite places for tourists is a lighthouse in which the former barracks were converted into a comfortable hotel with a restaurant located right at the edge of a steep rock. Under the lighthouse at a depth of 36 meters are the remains of the vessel, to which all divers who come to these parts are immersed.

Flora and fauna

The coastal zone of the Vityaz Bay is a nature reserve. In the forests live noble deer and tigers, and on foot or horseback ride you can see the nests of rare black vultures and white-tailed eagles.

From sea animals, black killer whales, lagga seals, dolphins and sea lions are guarded here. Due to the fact that the warm and cold current converge on the territory of the reserve, both Arctic and subtropical marine inhabitants coexist here.

The Bay of Vityaz (Primorye) is a place with a limited regime of natural use. This means that not everything that lives in the sea can be caught, let alone taken with oneself. Fans of fishing are better to know in advance where you can practice your favorite hobby.

Fishing in the bay
