Visa to Mexico for the residents of Russia

All people going for one reason or another to visit Mexico - a country located at the crossroads of the two Americas - are interested in the question of how to obtain a visa. In Mexico, for the purpose of tourism, business trip, transit, you can enter once without this document, but only for thirty days and only if there is an electronic permit. By the way, it is completely free. Do you need a visa for those in Mexico who plan to stay longer in the country for more than a month? Of course, yes. About how to get a permit or a consular visa, and what documents will be required for this, we'll talk in the article.

Rules for issuing and using electronic authorization

The document is issued to Russian citizens in the presence of a foreign passport, which after the end of the trip must be valid for at least another six months. You can use the services of absolutely any airline to fly to Mexico, but be sure to check beforehand whether the chosen air carrier participates in the SIR scheme. It should be noted that the electronic authorization is applied only in case of arrival in the country by air.

Do I need a visa for people in Mexico who have decided to travel on land or sea? Of course. It should be received at the embassy. In the Mexican embassy, you will also have to apply if the permit has been refused for some reason. In this case, you will need a visa to Mexico. The deadline for processing the document can be found there, as a rule, the process takes no more than seven working days.

Getting electronic permission

On the website of the Mexican Embassy in Moscow, you need to fill in the questionnaire yourself online. It should specify your personal data, including nationality, citizenship, date of birth, religion, number and date of issuance of the passport. And also the date of entry and the planned date of stay in the country, the purpose of the trip. As a rule, a positive answer comes within five minutes.

We draw your attention to the fact that the received electronic permission should not contain any mistakes, inaccuracies, because it is fraught with problems on arrival in Mexico - you can even be deported from the country. Now there is a practice when people with very common surnames, such as Ivanov, Petrov and so on, are denied an electronic permission. If you have suffered such a failure, there is nothing to be done - it is necessary to find out what visa is needed in Mexico, and formalize it in the established order through the Embassy.

Rules for entry into the country

If there are no problems, and the electronic permission has been received, you can (attention!) Fly to destination in Mexico. But this does not guarantee that you will be allowed to enter the country. At home, do not forget to print out the permit - you will need to provide it at the front desk on the day of departure. And already upon arrival in Mexico during the passage of the border control, the migration service officer will check the electronic agreement and your valid passport. If all the data is correct, you will be issued an entry permit.

For children under the age of eighteen

Traveling underage children (without parents or with one of the parents) require additional documents to enter and leave Mexico's territory: originals of consent to leave the child and birth certificates, certified translations of these documents by the notary to the Spanish language. In case of inability to produce the above-mentioned papers at the entrance / exit will be denied.

Migration card

Before passing control (upon arrival in Mexico) it is necessary to fill out the migration card and the customs declaration (one declaration is filled in the family). At the control point, one part of the card will be taken away from you, and the second you will have to keep it until the end of the trip - it will be required when you leave the country. The loss of the migration card is fraught with a fine. Usually, the cards are filled in the airplane in order to speed up the process of passing the border control. Stewardesses give them to passengers, and also help in filling out. But this does not always happen, so if you did not fill out the migration card during the flight, do not forget to take it on the counter at the airport. Write in this document should be in Latin capital letters in black or blue ink. It is necessary to fill out a card for every person who enters, that is, for a child, too.

Who does not need a visa to Mexico?

Citizens of Russia, who in all categories have a valid US visa or are permanent residents of the Schengen states, as well as Japan, the United States, Canada, do not need a visa to Mexico. E-permission for these categories of citizens, too, do not need to receive.
