Valentina was born in 1915 in Novocherkassk. Her father was a Don Cossack, this affected the character of the girl. She grew up to be a stubborn and independent girl who knew what she wanted, and she always did it. She became very independent very early, so she was not afraid to take risks. After graduation, Valya went to Leningrad to study at the Institute of Performing Arts at the Faculty of Actors. Since childhood, she dreamed of becoming an actress. War

After they declared martial law, Valentina and other actors of the theater went to the front. There they took care of the wounded and organized various concerts for the soldiers. Creative personalities prepared food for the fighters and did not let them lose the hope of victory. The war time was a real test for Valentina, where she was able to demonstrate her inner strength and steadfastness. Once, trying to escape the shelling, the girl was on a military watchdog, the ship went to the bottom. Actress Valentina Telegina and everyone who was on the watchdog, were in cold water. She was saved by the fact that she swam very well, so she stayed in the water for about two hours, after which she was picked up by the same warship.
