Actors and roles

One of the reasons for the success of the picture is the participation of Audrey Hepburn. The actress performed more than ten bright roles in the cinema before starting work on the film. She played the role of Holly at thirty-two. The heroine of Capote's book at the beginning of the narrative was not yet nineteen.

By the end of the fifties O. Hepburn became one of the most highly paid American actresses. In her entire life, she was nominated for Oscar four times. Including the role of Holly in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany."

The actors, who became Hepburn's partners on the set, invariably turned into Hollywood stars. Of course, it was not working with the legendary film actor who brought glory. The fact that Audrey Hepburn almost from the very beginning of his career was shot only by prominent directors. George Peppard became famous after the premiere of the film "Breakfast at Tiffany."

Actors, who played secondary roles in the film, were mostly well known to American audiences in the post-war period. Mickey Rooney began his career in the thirties. The actor twice received an Oscar. Rooney made a significant contribution to the development of cinema.

Such actors as Patricia Neal, Alan Reed, Buddy Ebsen, also played many bright roles in the cinema. However, in the filmography of each of them, the work in the film "Breakfast at Tiffany" occupies a special place.

Plot

Holly is a strange and unorganized girl. Every evening, she worries one of her neighbors, because she always loses her keys. As a result of her absent-mindedness, she gets acquainted with Paul. An eccentric and elegant girl evokes the curiosity of a young man. In order to engage with her acquaintance, Paul asks permission to use her phone.

Holly is bored to live. It is so boring that she visits every week in the prison of Sally Pomidor, the former leader of the mafia group. However, she does this not for free. From Sally, she sends a message to one of the members of the criminal group, for which she receives a reward of $ 100 for each visit. The frivolous Holly does not think about the consequences of such actions.

Sex is attached to the girl. They become true friends: they share their dreams and plans for the future. But one day Holly announces to Paul about his imminent marriage. Her chosen one is a wealthy man from Brazil. Holly had long dreamed of becoming a rich man's wife. She is going with her future spouse to Brazil, but she is being arrested.

Behind the bars, Holly spends just a few days. Jose, meanwhile, is changing his plans. He does not intend to associate himself with a special person whose reputation leaves much to be desired. Holly, no matter what, decides to go to Brazil. She's going to the airport. Paul accompanies the girl, persuading to stay. However, Holly is adamant. In addition, on the way the errant girl gets rid of her red cat, who has never bothered to give a name.

The end of this story, unlike the final part of the literary source, is happy. The film ends with a meeting of heroes against the background of a rainy city landscape. The most touching scene, perhaps, is the one where the heroine of the film after a long search embraces its wet nameless cat.
