"Uspekhi Fizicheskikh Nauk" is the best review-critical scientific journal

The scientific journal "Uspekhi Fizicheskikh Nauk" is a periodic monthly publication. It is included in the list of scientific journals published monthly, VAK. "The success of the physical sciences" is considered the most cited edition of the Russian scientific periodicals to date

History

The first volume of the magazine was published in 1918. The founder is P. Lazarev, who was subsequently appointed editor-in-chief. Before the new 2009, Keldysh Leonid Veniaminovich, Academician, was elected editor-in-chief. At the end of 2016, he was no more. Temporary duties of the editor-in-chief are performed by VA Rubakov, acting academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Since mid-2004, the co-publisher of Physics-Uspekhi and co-founder was the Physics Institute . P.N. Lebedev, who is a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Publications

The journal publishes articles that are relevant to the field of physics, as well as studies in which the authors offer and explain unusual or non-traditional conceptual ideas on the principle positions of the theory. The articles are always substantiated by material from the personal experiments of the authors.

Also in the publication "Uspekhi Fizicheskikh Nauk" one can find works of an overview-critical orientation. In 2010, UFN received the maximum indicator of the importance of a scientific weekly, the so-called impact factor, among all scientific monthly publications produced in Russia.

There is a monthly English version of the journal Uspekhi Fizicheskikh Nauk (Physics Uspekhi). The first to translate a scientific publication was the American Institute of Physics. It happened in 1958. Until 1993, the magazine was published under the name Soviet Physics-Uspekhi and was printed in London. Since 1996, the Physics-Uspekhi has been fully prepared in Moscow: it is being translated, it is being edited and adjusted and is being recruited completely. Published in the publishing house Turpion Ltd, in London.
