Introduction

History

In the early 30-ies of the last century in Chelyabinsk came the couple Garianova - actors of the drama theater. At the master in the local market they bought a charming old toy - Parsley. It was this acquisition that gave birth to the idea of creating a puppet theater in the city .

Pavel and Nina Garianov enthusiastically set to work. The first performances were on the stage of the local drama theater. Only in 1935 the authorities officially announced the creation of the Chelyabinsk State Puppet Theater. He was placed in one of the rooms of the House of artistic education of children: they built a small stage, arranged chairs for young spectators. And on 02.10.1935 the first performance "Kashtanka" was held here. It is this date that is considered the birthday of the Puppet Theater in Chelyabinsk.

Years passed. The puppeteers perfected their art, the stage expanded, the first awards appeared. The legend was the performances "Silver Hoof", "Tiger Petric", "Malchish-Kibalchish". In the early 1970's. The 20th century was introduced by the innovation of the puppet theater (Chelyabinsk). Here for the first time non-swash performances were played, when the audience saw live puppet actors. Also on stage were performances for adults ("Love and Three Oranges", "Enamored Gods"). The unexpected expansion of the repertoire of the children's theater caused mixed assessments, and for the time being performances 16+ were suspended.

In 1972, the Puppet Theater (Chelyabinsk) received a new building, in which it is located today.

In 1977 the director Valery Volhovsky came to the Chelyabinsk Children's Theater. Here he worked for 10 years and set a lot of unforgettable performances, among which "We play Cheburashka", "The Adventures of Neznaika", "Buka", "Straw Lark", "Career Arturo Ui", "Little Prince", "Aistenok and Scarecrow" And even "Dead Souls" by N. Gogol.

After Volhovsky, other talented directors came to the theater - Mikhail Khusid, Alexander Borok, Sergei Plotov, Vladimir Gusarov, Ludwig Ustinov, Valentina Shiryaeva. Together with like-minded professionals - actors, artists, musicians, technicians - they raised the stage to an unprecedented ethical and aesthetic height.
