The Pasha River (Leningrad region). A good place for successful fishing

In the Leningrad region there are many picturesque places. One of them is the tributary of the Svir, the Pasha River. This is a fairly large tributary, the length of which is more than 240 kilometers. The area of the river basin is 6,600 square kilometers. And, despite the fact that this river is just an influx, it is estimated that its length exceeds the length of the Sviri itself by twelve kilometers.

In ancient times it was on this river that the ships that took the tribute to the tsarist treasury went. Even in ancient birch-bark letters there are references to these places.

Stormy

The Pasha River is a meandering pond with a rather turbulent current. There are more than seventy thresholds. It belongs to the 6th class of shipping and is most often used for transporting forests. The amazing beauty of the coast, decorated with age-old pines and fir trees, have steep slopes and rises. In some places, the banks of the river decrease and dissolve in endless fields of many kilometers.

In the vicinity of the rapids is found mainly pebbles, limestone slabs and large mighty boulders. But the Pasha River can boast of amazing sandy beaches, most of which are located in its central part.

Transparent

The Pasha River originates from the lake, so a lot of dams were built in the mouth. Water on most sites is transparent and clean. If you swim on a boat and look down, the bottom is clearly visible. Some of the river inhabitants will not escape your gaze.

In this river there are very few waterlogged places. Basically, they are found in the lower reaches. The Pasha River of the Leningrad Region is one of the few stormy rivers in this region. She every second drops more than 65 cubic meters of water into the Svir. In some places, in connection with the high water and stormy "activity" of this reservoir, bulk dams have been built to prevent a spill in the spring.

The river feeds mainly from thawed spring waters. It starts to freeze, as a rule, at the end of November, but in the last days of April it starts to make a lively noise again.

Multi-purpose

As we have already said, the river is used as a navigable one. In addition, water from Pasha goes to industrial (on one of the banks there is a wood processing plant) and municipal water supply.

For fishermen

Like in many other reservoirs of the Leningrad Region, the fish of the Pasha River abound with its diversity. On the hook here falls and a mighty catfish, and burbot, and pike perch, and a smart pike, and a brisk scoundrel. Many professional fishermen sat here with a fishing rod, and everyone already has their favorite fishing places and fishing areas that are advantageous for fishing on the river. Pasha, generously endowing lovers of this type of recreation with rich catches, is not a luxury, but the natural essence of things.

The most popular is fishing from boats. After visiting here once, enjoying the endless water surface and successful fishing, fishermen return here every year. Some come from other cities, claiming that it was here that they once caught the biggest carp in their lives or the largest bream. And to exchange such a successful fish place will not agree to anything.

To list the variety of fish that lives in these places can, perhaps, be infinite. It is not uncommon to catch pike-perch, whose weight has exceeded five kilograms. They fall on the hook and salmon, and asp. Salmon, as the locals say, came across more than twenty kilograms. On the worm excellent perch and gobies. But in the mornings fishermen recommend hunting for an eel. There are crab and bream here.

On Pasha fishermen practice completely different types of fishing. You can go for a catch on a motor or rowing boat. Very often there are fishermen who prefer underwater fishing. There are a lot of places on the shore, as they say, are well-groomed and well-groomed, ideally prepared for convenient fishing.

If you are looking for a cozy and quiet place, where to put a tent and relax from the city bustle and smog of a big city, then it's better to not find places in the Leningrad region, according to many tourists. On the main part of the river is a developed infrastructure. This is an ideal place for those who do not like to travel by "savages", but prefer modern comfort, but in nature.

Here there are tent towns and modern recreation centers. Fisherman's camp with rental boats, sit by the fire and stories about the largest caught fish. There is even a hunter's house for those who prefer a different type of recreation to fishing. In general, any traveler can find here a lodging, shelter and an interesting story about fishing for a dream to come.

Very often on Pasha come from all over Russia lovers to raft in kayaks. From early spring until late autumn, you can find boats crossing the pond. Due to the presence of fish places and developed infrastructure there is a place to stay after a hard way on oars.

There are also cyclists. Of course, the banks of the river do not always allow cycling, but there are places where traveling on two-wheeled vehicles is a real pleasure. And pure untouched nature nearby, and the beauty of the surrounding world is so close, and the smooth surface of the purest river. Amazing landscape overboard.
