The "Oorfene Deuce" group and its leader

The group "Urfin Dzhus" is a rock band, which comes from Sverdlovsk. It was founded in 1980, in December. The collective is named after one of the main characters of Volkov's book "Oorfene Deuce and his wooden soldiers". There was also a version, as if the name of the group comes from the transcription of the phrase "Jews-Orphans". The author of the texts is Ilya Kormiltsev. Alexander Korotich is an artist who designed all the magnetoalbums of the collective.

History

This group worked in the styles of art-rock, post-punk, progressive and avant-prog. It was created by those who left the "Sonans" Alexander Pantykin and Ivan Savitsky. The first took over the vocals, keyboards and bass, the second - percussion. This Soviet rock band was supplemented by Yuri Bogatikov (scenic pseudonym - "Rink"), who played the guitar. In the spring of 1981 the band was replaced by a drummer. In place of Savitsky came Alexander Plyasunov. The latter previously played in the Philharmonic. On April 1 of the same year the collective made its debut in the big hall of the Polytechnic Institute.

Music

The group "Urfin Dzhus" took part in the first Sverdlovsk rock festival, which was organized on the initiative of the Komsomol Institute of Architecture. The team won the main prize of the jury. After recording the first album entitled "Journey" Pantykin invited new musicians. Yuri Bogatikov and Plyasunov left, Vladimir Nazimov and Igor Belkin appeared. The group "Oorfene Deuce" in this composition recorded two albums. Further, from the filing of Kormil'tsev and Belkin in 1984, they merged into a single collective with the little-known Nautilus Pompilius. The musicians helped Belkin record his solo album titled "Near the Radio." In 1986, the team is again divided into new projects "Nastya" and "Nautilus". In the first left former musicians of the group "Urfin Dzhus", and their leader was Belkin.

The collective was never particularly known. At the same time the group was included in the list of "Legends of Russian Rock". However, it disintegrated to a colossal procession of rock music on the territory of the USSR, which took place in the late 1980s. At the same time, the musical style of the project influenced the creative representatives of Sverdlovsk.
