The most unusual houses in the world

Architecture is always a high art, but we have forgotten about it for a long time, since most of the buildings on our planet are very similar to each other. Dull boxes of residential buildings have long not pleased the views, but there are masters who create unique houses. Those projects that have become reality become known to the whole world, and hundreds of thousands of tourists rush to remote corners of our planet to see modern buildings that surprise with their appearance.

Today we will consider the most unusual houses in the world, which often become business cards of cities.

Kubuswoning in the Netherlands

So, the symbol of Rotterdam are amazing house-cubes, installed at an angle of 45 degrees. Original looking, they are mounted in hexagonal bases and raised above the ground. It is curious that the idea of creating an avant-garde structure belongs to the administration, which conceived the idea of constructing living quarters over a bridge.

Local architect Blom, who received an order in the 80s of the last century, united them in an air village and turned at an angle. He gave vent to his imagination, creating a unique "city in the city", which became well known for its peculiar design. The creative architect embodied the idea that in megacities should be cozy villages - quiet oases for tenants, where there is a private courtyard, playground and shops.

Avant-garde architectural complex

The cube house, made of cement and wood, stands on a high support and is deployed at an angle in such a way that its three sides face the sky, and the other three - to the ground. Roofs of 38 structures were painted in gray and snow-white colors, so that the buildings from afar resembled mountain peaks. From a bird's-eye view this design looks like a huge children's puzzle.

Inside the avant-garde houses are the same unique apartments in the form of pyramids, the area of which is about 100 meters 2 , but all the space to use under the shelter is impossible due to the angle between the floor and the walls. Cubic house in Rotterdam is a very popular place among tourists. For a fee, you can see what is inside it, and appreciate the bizarre life in such a strange complex.

A house where it is difficult to spend a lot of time

When it comes to the most unusual houses, we can not fail to mention the so-called buildings "flip-flops", a fashion that came from the United States. Basically, these are fascinating attractions created to attract tourists. To visit such a strange room and make interesting photos can be for several hundred rubles. However, inveterate travelers have already seen in different countries looking into the sky an unusual house, which the architects erected as a symbol of our world going crazy.

In Poland, the businessman Chapevsky 10 years ago ordered a project of such a "flip-flop" with a roof lying on the ground, which became a real bait for tourists. In a small Szymbark, located near Gdansk, there is an inverted house, in which it is difficult to spend a lot of time, as the head starts spinning, and the brain does not accept a new reality. It is for this reason that it was built not for several weeks, but for more than three months.

Visitors enter a wooden house, turned over 180 degrees, through a small attic window, and then, gently stroking among the chandeliers, they go to walk around the rooms. By the way, there is a legend that the customer of the project wanted to use the upturned house as its own dwelling, but now the local attraction attracts foreign visitors from all over the world who want to walk unhindered on the ceiling.

Fairy house in Sopot

It is in Poland is the famous building, recognized as the best architectural project. In 2004, a popular "curve" house appeared in Sopot, which became part of the shopping center. The original building was designed from illustrations to fairy tales and surrealistic paintings.

It seems that the "crooked" house in Poland melted into the sun and lost its former shape. And some tourists at first sincerely believe in optical illusion and a special mirror, in which the original masterpiece of architecture is reflected. However, this structure, built to attract tourists to the city, does not really have a single right angle. Architects realized the most original ideas, thanks to which the delightful house became world famous.

The most photographed building

The windows and doors of the building, built from a variety of materials, are bizarrely bent, and the roof, made of shiny plates, looks like the back of a magical dragon. The enthralling and colorful glass entrances, which are illuminated at night by colorful lights. Without exaggeration, we can say that this is the most photographed building in Poland.

Visitors to the shopping center will see on the ground floor a painted wall, which is an analogue of the starry alley in Hollywood, where media people express their admiration.

House in an ecological style

When architects design the most unusual houses that differ from the others in their original forms, they often care only for profit, because such structures immediately become the objects of intense attention of tourists. However, there are also such masters who do not think about commerce, but about harmony with nature. F. Hundertwasser was an adherent of the ecological style, and all his masterpieces fit perfectly into the natural landscape. He said that living in the same buildings is very harmful to the mental and physical health of a person.

Waldspirale cochlear complex

So, in German Darmstadt there is a stunning residential complex consisting of 12 floors. A huge building, made in the shape of a horseshoe, is designed for 105 apartments, and each of them has its own characteristics. Now this house, on the roof of which trees grow, and in the courtyard is a small pond with fish, allows you to feel the whole charm of unity with nature in the heart of the bustling city.

"Forest spiral" in Darmstadt is a cochlear building, in which there are no straight lines and sharp corners. The building has thousands of windows of non-repeating shapes and sizes, and each is decorated with a miniature crown to make people feel like real kings of their living space. The architect's refusal from the usual forms affected the interior, and here no one will find the right angles between the wall and the floor, and all the lines are rounded.

Nautilus in Naucalpan de Juarez

The building that appeared in Mexico also lacks the usual geometry of modern buildings. Similar to the giant shell of the snail "house-nautilus," where furniture grows directly from the walls, is often compared to the masterpieces created by the great Gaudi. A very bright and colorful building with colored stained-glass windows appeared 11 years ago, and for this time it was recognized by foreign guests hurrying to enjoy the amazing spectacle.

A quaint masterpiece of architecture, they take for a futuristic monument or an unusual attraction, although in fact it is a residential building, where the Mexican family lives. Dreamed to merge with nature, the couple ordered a project of a unique structure and took care not only of the aesthetic appearance, but also of safety. Today, designers attribute this unusual house to unique monuments of so-called bio-organic architecture. The miracle of architectural thought, fully adapted to life, miraculously fits into the surrounding landscape.

Safety and beauty

Thanks to the wireframe of the reinforced wire, the streamlined building will stand even in case of a strong earthquake. And the material from which the "shell of the shellfish" is built is a type of refractory ceramics that can withstand unfavorable weather conditions.

The sun's rays, illuminating the mosaic-decorated facade, penetrate into the interior, on the walls of which sparkle multicolored patches of light. And after entering the house, visitors will see not the usual floor, but a grass carpet, along which the paths are traversed, laid in the host's rooms. Numerous green plantations are an organic part of the interior. Rounded windows give the impression that it is a real shell lying on the ocean floor. It seems that this is some other dimension, a genuine magic that immerses residents and guests into another reality. Bedrooms and kitchen are located at the back of the structure, away from the prying eyes of visitors.

It is impossible to describe all the famous masterpieces of architectural mastery. While the person is alive, the most unusual houses will appear, which inspire, surprise and evoke a feeling of pride. I am glad that many unpredictable designs are used for their intended purpose.
