The drug "Ferrovir" is a biologically active compound, extract from milk of salmon and sturgeon fishes (sodium deoxyribonucleate salt with iron, complex standardized and purified). The agent has an immunomodulatory and antiviral effect, activating antifungal, antiviral and antimicrobial immunity. It is produced in the form of a solution for insertion into the muscle.

The medicine is prescribed for infectious infection with the herpes virus of different localization, including the generalized type. The indications include human papillomavirus, pathological manifestations of this condition (dysplasia, warts, condylomas). The medication is prescribed for hepatitis C, cytomegalovirus infection, tick-borne encephalitis. "Ferrovir" is recommended for use in the complex therapy of patients with AIDS and HIV-infected, including in the presence of chronic hepatitis C, herpetic recurrent infection and other opportunistic viral lesions.
Contraindications
The "Ferrovir" medication is not recommended for use in pregnancy, hypersensitivity, lactation and childhood.
Dosing regimen
Against the background of herpetic infection , 5 ml of medication per day are prescribed twice a day. The duration of the drug is ten days. In the treatment of genital recurrent herpes, cytomegalovirus infection, the same dosage is recommended. Duration of treatment - up to fifteen days. Therapy of patients with HIV or AIDS is carried out for fourteen days. If necessary, after a month and a half, a second treatment is prescribed. In the case of hepatitis C, the "Ferrovir" remedy is recommended for fourteen days in a standard dose of 5 ml 2 r / day. For the next two weeks, the medication is administered every other day. The daily dose does not change. In tick-borne encephalitis, the drug is used for five or ten days. Against the background of papillomavirus infection , 5 ml once a day is prescribed. The interval between administrations is 72 hours. The duration of therapy is ten days. In case of acute recurrent condylomas, a standard dose is recommended twice a day as a mono-drug or in combination with other methods of treatment.

With the introduction of the solution, an increase in temperature up to 38 degrees, soreness, hyperemia at the site of injection can be noted.

To reduce soreness, a slow (within a minute or two) intramuscular injection is recommended. The solution should be used immediately after opening. Intravenous administration of the drug is prohibited. Do not store open vials with medication.
