Krasnodar Reservoir - the largest in the region

The so-called Kuban Sea is the largest reservoir in the entire North Caucasus. Its total area is 420 square kilometers. The length of the reservoir is 45 kilometers, and the maximum width is 15. The depths here reach 15-20 meters.

The idea of creating on this site a huge man-made lake originated with Soviet engineers in 1967. After eight years it was realized. During the filling of the reservoir under water took about two dozen villages. Most of the local residents were moved to the new city of Adygeisk.

Kryukovskoe Reservoir

Kryukovskoe reservoir of the Krasnodar Territory, perhaps, can be called one of the most picturesque in the region. It is located to the west of Krasnodar, near the village of Lviv.

The reservoir was put into operation in 1972. It was created in order to regulate floods on local rivers, as well as to irrigate local arable land. In the near future, the reconstruction of the reservoir is planned, providing for strengthening its banks, increasing the dam.
