The history of the Moscow metro: metro Chkalovskaya
The metro station Chkalovskaya was commissioned relatively recently, in 1995. It became part of the Volzhskaya-Chkalovskaya section, the Lublin-Dmitrovskaya line. The neighboring stations are Sretensky Boulevard and Rimskaya. This station is located in Basmanny district, which is located in the central administrative district of Moscow.
Chkalovskaya refers to stations of deep laying and is located at a depth of 51 meters under the ground. The track walls are decorated with white marble, the columns have a gray-blue hue, and the granite floor is made in gray, pink and black colors. Interesting lamps are located on the pylons and vaults of the station and form an arc that reaches almost to the floor.
Metro Chkalovskaya remained the terminal station until 2007, until Trubnaya station was opened. At present, it is part of a transport hub, which also includes two Kursk-Koltsevo and Arbat-Pokrovskaya lines. From the northern end of the station you can go to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line, and the transition to the Ring Line can be made in the southern vestibule of the station.
By the way, the metro station with this name is not only in Moscow. There is metro station Chkalovskaya St. Petersburg, and in Yekaterinburg, too, there is such a station. In St. Petersburg, it was opened two years later than in Moscow, and was named in honor of the avenue on which it is located.
In Moscow, leaving the metro station Chkalovskaya, you can visit the theaters "Soprichastnost" and "Courage", the Artplay Gallery on the Yauza, as well as the children's entertainment center "Green Door". Nearby there are several shopping centers and a lot of boutiques. There is a famous night club nearby.
Today on the Lublin-Dmitrovskaya line works are underway to build several metro stations at once. And the station Chkalovskaya in a short time should become one of the main interchange points for people living in remote areas of Moscow.
Already today the station skips daily about 48 thousand people a day, and with the opening of new stations on this line, the load on it will increase significantly. True, on this branch of the subway it is planned to open another transport and transfer hub, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya station. That will reduce the burden on land public transport and make it so that people can comfortably get to work.
