The focus of Gon on pulmonary tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease, also called "consumption" and has been known since ancient times. Infection of tuberculosis is transmitted by airborne droplets and in large numbers exists in our time, however, for its transmission it is necessary to long and repeatedly be near a sick person, as well as reduced immunity.

The initial stage of the disease is characterized by the appearance of such a complex in the lungs, as the focus of the Gon.

How does the infection occur?

As soon as the tubercle bacillus enters the human body, inflammation begins.

This is very slow. Since the body has not yet developed ways to fight bacteria, the infection spreads quite easily. In this case, a primary limited area of inflammation in the lung is formed. In parallel, the development of inflammation in the lymphatic vessels, the so-called lymphangitis, can begin. After healing of the primary focus of inflammation, the affected area calcifies and solidifies. The focus of the Gon is formed.

What it is?

So, the first stage of tuberculosis comes to an end when there is a focus of Gon in the lungs. What is this - we will consider in more detail.

This is a small granulomatous inflammation, which can be seen on the roentgenogram if it has already begun to calcify and has grown to large sizes.

Usually, the primary focus is formed on the periphery of the lung, usually in the middle or lower regions. At the same time, lymph nodes can be affected, which is not always immediately noticeable. Usually, the focus of Gon passes, without causing any further anxiety to the patient. However, in some cases, the infection from it spreads further throughout the body and the second stage of tuberculosis, much more complicated, begins.

Clinical picture

The primary focus can begin to be acute, gradually, but most people go asymptomatically. The clinical picture of the disease mainly depends on the severity of the morphological changes and the size of the affected area. Children can also develop a focus of the Gon. Symptoms of it depend on age. In children from birth to 6-7 years, the greatest propensity to transient development of the process, in view of the features of the structure of the respiratory system and lungs.

At an acute onset of the disease symptoms of intoxication prevail, the body temperature rises. With a gradual patient from a few weeks to a month may not be aware of the infection.

When examining children, attention is drawn to enlarged peripheral and intrathoracic lymph nodes, paraspecific reactions. An important indicator is a specific reaction to the Mantoux test.

In adult patients, shortening of pulmonary sound, severe or weakened breathing, rales are possible. In the analysis of blood leukocytosis is observed.

Therapy

People who have the doctors set up the focus of the Gon, the treatment is usually prescribed in the form of tuberostatic therapy. Assign antibacterial drugs of the first series (isoniazid, ftivazid and others), drugs isonicotinic acid, streptomycin.

After antibacterial treatment, the symptoms quickly disappear, coughing stops and spitting out. For effective therapy, it is very important to diagnose the disease as early as possible, and also to identify the resistance of mycobacteria to certain drugs.

Antibiotic therapy is carried out regularly, with courses for one or one and a half years. When the temperature appears symptomatic treatment is aimed at reducing it.

In addition, it is necessary to enter the diet and rest regime , it is necessary to take multivitamins, to maintain immunity.

Exodus

There are many people who have been diagnosed as "the focus of Gon in the lungs." A few people know that this disease is easily treatable. However, the outcome of therapy can be of three types:

  1. Favorable - specific changes in the lungs completely resolve. This occurs with minor inflammation in the lymph nodes and timely treatment.
  2. Relatively favorable - the formation of calcifications at the site of the lesion and in the lymph nodes. Occurs with late diagnosis and significant changes.
  3. Unfavorable - the transition of the primary tuberculosis complex into a secondary one.

Thus, it can be concluded that early and competent diagnosis, as well as timely treatment, can lead to a favorable outcome of patients even with such a serious disease as pulmonary tuberculosis.
